CODES, TRICKS, BUGS and EASTER EGGS =================================== * Choose Your Outfit: Press start when you select your character to change their outfit. * Seven Victory Stances: Each character has seven victory stances and/or taunts. With the exception of the "EXCELLENT!!" victory taunt, you can select any of the other six you prefer by pressing and holding either G, P, K, E, G+P, or G+K. [G+P+K+E and G+P+K are the same as G+P. G+K+E is the same as G+K. G+E is the same as G] * View The Credits: To view the credits during attract mode hold any start button down. Not possible if machine is set to free play. * Alternative Music: To hear the alternative attract mode music hold both start buttons down before the scene starts. Not possible if machine is set to free play. * Debug Mode: To access debug mode, hold P+K+G+E before pressing start to enter the game. Works only in 1P (vs CPU) mode. * Replay Cancel: Press the start button to cancel the end of match replays. * Replay Cancel Cancel: Hold any button during the replay to prevent the other player from canceling the replay. * Dural's Stages: Possible only if stage select is on. Hold start when choosing a stage. With a 1/16 (?) chance, the Dural stage will appear. * Flying Trains: When using Jeffry in Dural's desert stage (either against Dural or if you managed to get it at the stage select), try a toe kick of doom. If you land it a flying train will appear from the background and will fly across the horizon until the end of the match. This is a homage to "Galaxy Express 999", an older, popular animated series in Japan. * Kiss: For Pai only. After defeating Akira with an "EXCELLENT!!" victory, hold D+P+G+E and she'll blow a kiss and mock one of Akira's normal taunts. * Little Snowman: At Wolf's desert stage, with Shun only. If Shun wins, a snowman may or may not appear; dependant on location of Shun and angle of camera. * Peace Signs: After winning, hold D+P+G+E at the end of the round with either Jacky or Kage to see them give a V-sign. * Falling Basins: Win an "EXCELLENT" victory in Akira's stage with 2P (shiny) Kage and hold DB+P+G+E to see Kage give his V-sign taunt while a metal basin falls on his head. * Subway Suicide: Every character who has a Turn Away attack can use their quickest TA attack and run straight into the train at the beginning of the round. No matter what the lifebar setting it will always leave just _one_ hit point left. * One Person Throw: If your opponent is standing at the edge of the ring and you throw him, sometimes he will fall out of the ring before the throw completes. If this happens you will finish the throw motion alone. * Signage: The sign immediately behind the metal bars on the eastern side of Pai's stage has a Sonic The Hedgehog logo and reads "Hedgehog Importing Co." The Japanese writing on the sign is the joystick/button instructions for how to do the shinsodan. The adverts in Sarah's stage: the one with the towel on the chair reads, "Your towel awaits you." The one with the car reads, "When was the last time you were happy?" Both of the images in these ads are from the VF Portrait series for the Sega Saturn. The subway map reads "New York City Subway". The sign in Akira's stage essentially reads "Yuki Dojo". * Colored Earrings: Sarah's earrings will change color depending on who is in the ring and what outfit he/she is in; ex: blue for 1P outfit Akira, and so on. Here are a few examples - barefoot Akira == black earings [Akira's gi] slippered Akira == light blue earings [Akira's gi] eagle Jacky == blue earings with a gold accent [Jacky's jacket] workout Jeff == chocolate earings [Jeff's skin tone] blue Kage == dark blue earings [Kage's pajamas] tin man Kage == silver and black two tone earings gangster Lion == brown and black two tone earings [Lion's vest] white Lion == white earings [Lion's pants] naked Taka == peach earings [Taka's skin tone] wrestler Wolf == bright red earings [Wolf's tights] * Death Floats: Immediately after the round is called, and for the short while afterwards before the replay/taunt begins, the opponent will become lighter and all of your moves will count as MC interrupts. You can land crazy floats this way, such as f+P+G,DP,DP on Taka with Kage, and stuff like low punch x 4, PPPK with Lau. Lots of room for experimentation, come up with the best you can. * "I Wiiiinnaaarrrrrghh!!!": Most of the time when you win a match you'll be transported to the middle of the ring for your character's winning taunt. However, occasionally you'll stay at the exact place in the ring where you defeated your opponent. If this happens when and if you're close enough to the ring edge, sometimes you'll see your character begin his/her taunt, only to fall out of the ring mid-way. Usually the action will also freeze if this happens. * Screw You, Akira: You can throw Akira out of his bodycheck (normal bodycheck or DLC bodycheck) during the execution phase of the animation (not during the collision or recovery phase, however), from anywhere in the ring. * Blast From the Past (albiet a very small blast): In Jeffry's stage, looking in the far off distance, slightly to the right of the direction of where the camera is at the beginning of a round. Beyond the island with the palm trees, catwalk and gazebo, there is another island. On the beach of this island there is a large square ring and a boat, much like as seen in Jeffry's VF2 stage. * "The Akira Dance": The Akira dance is a series of moves executed by two Akira's in the ring. The moves will not connect, resulting in them just "dancing" around eachother in the ring. 1) P1 Akira starts with an RBC (b,df+P+G) which is escaped by P2 Akira (with df+P+G). From there both Akira's execute the following moves, one immediately after the other, in sync: 2) b,f+P+K+E 3) df+K+E 4) b,f+P+K 5) E 6) b,f+P+K 7) df+K+E 8) d,UB+K 9) After step 8, both Akira's will face eachother. At this point you can begin again from step 1, or continue the dance with P1 Akira doing a full DLC, with P2 Akira blocking the 2/3 DLC and throwing P1 Akira out of the bodycheck of the DLC with an b,df+P+G RBC - which P1 Akira escapes. From here both Akira's execute the following moves, one immediately after the other, in sync: 8) b,f+P+K+E 9) K+G!G (knee) 10) E 11) b,f+P+K 12) df+K+E 13) TT d+P At this point both Akira's will face eachother. You can begin again from either step 1 or step 9. Either Akira/player can initiate the dance regardless of which side they are on; P1 and P2 Akira are referred to as such to prevent confusion in this description. * "The Shun Dance": As with the Akira dance, the Shun is a series of moves executed by two Shun players in the ring. Again, the moves will not connect. 1) P1 Shun df+P+G throws P2 Shun. From there both Shun's execute the following moves, one immediately after the other, in sync: 2) b+E,P 3) ub+E,P+K 4) uf+P 5) uf+E 6) df+K+E 7) HCB,P+K 8) b,b 9) P,K 10) d,d 11) P+K+G (drink) Either Shun/player can initiate the dance regardless of which side they are on; P1 and P2 Akira are referred to as such to prevent confusion in this description. VF3 Revision A through Revision C only: --------------------------------------- * Freeze The CPU: Due to a bug in the CPU AI programming certain canned combos, if blocked/whiffed in a certain way, will cause the CPU character to freeze up completely. You can do to the CPU character as you wish. Here are the moves: Akira - f,f+K,K; CPU must be guarding while standing. Aoi - f,f+K,K; CPU must block first move and crouch under second move. Kage - f+P+K,P+K; CPU must block first move and crouch under second move. Jacky - P,P,f+P,K or f+P,K; CPU must block elbow and crouch under kick. Jeffry - b+K,P; CPU must block first move and crouch under second move. Lau - df+K,f+P; CPU must block first move and crouch under second move. Lion - df+P,P; CPU must block first move and crouch under second move. Pai - uf+K,K; CPU must be guarding while standing. Sarah - df+K,K; CPU must block first move and crouch under second move. Shun - d,df+P,P; CPU must block first move and crouch under second move. Taka-arashi - f,f+P,P; CPU must block first move and crouch under second move. Wolf cannot freeze the CPU. * The Warp Bug: This will only work on the 1P (left) side and only with characters that can cancel their high kicks. While an opponent is airborne during a throw or during a float or bouncing on the ground, cancel a high kick and press G+E immediately afterwards. If timed correctly they will be frozen, completely unable to move, standing up or lying down. Works on the CPU and in vs mode alike. * Infinite Range Kickflip Reversal: Aoi and Akira can reverse a kickflip from any range inside the ring. * Lau's TFT, kickflip: VS CPU only. If player, as Kage, KOs CPU Lau at the wall edge with a TFT, ub+K+G combo, and then finishes the game, the end credits replay will show Lau TFT'ing and kickflipping another Lau. [end of file]
