I recently spoke to the technical manager at the Gameworks location here in Minneapolis about seeing if they might be able to get Final Tuned. After he discussed this with his superiors he called me back and said that they would not be getting Final Tuned but would instead wait for VF5. I was a little taken aback by this and so I asked him if there was a release date set for VF5. He said there was a "tenative" release date set but didn't know when that would be off hand. I was and am skeptical but I do recall reading that VF5 has supposedly been in production since before Final Tuned.

With that in mind I went to Google and simply searched for "Virtua Fighter 5 release date." The only thing significant that came up is this:

It lists the PS2 release date of VF5 for 12/31/05. It's probably faulty information but my discussion with the fellow at Gameworks led me to believe that VF5's release date would be sooner than I expected.

This is all likely a wild goose chase but I figured I'd post this here so that those with SEGA connections could inquire.

I just recently went and researched this. And yes, it seems Sega is working on VF5. They haven't stated a word yet, but it's true that they are working on it. Right now though they are busy making other things and working on their kids version of VF. So keep hoping everyone, VF5 will arive hopefully near the end of his year.

I wouldn't get my hopes up about FT or VF5. I'm pretty content playing 4 & Evo, so I can wait a bit longer for something new.
