The 360 demo for Sonic and SEGA All Stars just came out today, allowing you to play as either the blue mascot himself or special guest star Banjo and Kazooie from Rare's famous series of the same name.

Now why would I put a thread about another of SEGA's attempt to cash in on Sonic's fading popularity and trying to copy Mario's various spin-offs.

Cause this game has Virtua Fighters

Everyone's favorite over-confident, goofy, and fun loving race car driver, Jacky Bryant is in, in what looks like an updated version of The Ferrari from Outrun, ready to show all those cartoony characters how it's really done, "Less Talk, More Action!"

Oh and guess who's riding shotgun?


Now personally, I would have perfered if Jacky just just handcuffs lightning and uses them...or have Lau Chan stomp them mysteriously from the sky...or have Kage and use his as a Bullet bill type and mow down everyone...or have El Blaze shout to the heavens and give you temporary invincibility, making your car an unstoppable.........



...weapon. :P

But like it or not (and according to one thread that I gotta visit, you don't) Akira is the "face" of VF, and he uses one of his famous shoves to put Jacky in the lead...dunno which one is it? Anyone can tell me?

Either way, the game itself plays pretty ok, though it is harder and more hectic than Mario Kart and the Announcer is the most annoying one since the guy from Street Fighter 4, but overall a great game that celebrates SEGA History.

And hey, it could have been worse....Jacky could have had Lion and he'll annoy people to death.

To be honest, I was expecting this game to be pretty phoned in. But after playing the demo I have to say, it plays well and all the levels look interesting. I may just have to pick this one up.

Will buy at $30 or less. To many good games coming out right now

That trailer pained me. So many classic mascots, of games we won't see continued ; ; CG looked high class though, wonder if they actually took their time with this one. Most kart based games are shovel-ware. Hmm.

also i actually have pretty high expectations for this game, and have had them since i heard richard jacques was doing the ost!

Whatever richard jacques becomes gold, they should have let him do the music in the PGR series, just like in MSR.

And btw that looks more like a body check than a full fledged SPOD.

Whatever the term is, I call it Akira's power of infinite shoving, as taught by Segata Sanshiro.

But it's not like Jacky needs it, he has so much confidence that even if the car explodes, he still drives on...pure confidence.

btw why isn't Segata Sanshiro in this game? (Segata Sanshiro, Sega Saturn Shiro!)

What about Bayonetta?

Apparently he was, his vehicle was a Sega Saturn but they didn't feel it was right so they removed him.

Did he just Bodycheck the Ferrari for a turbo boost?
5 stars until i seen Sonic win the race in a car when her runs faster than everybody. Wonder if he can turn gold though.
