For a side crumple, I mainly use: + OM
I've never really used for side crumple, outside of getting the side crumple on accident.

In my case, it was mainly because I'm just more comfortable using + and I'd mostly seen people using that.
The situation I mainly use is as a mid-range poke if I suspect my opponent will evade to Lion's front. However, in that same situation, I prefer using .
For whatever reason, I do like staggering opponents with , but I think it's an old habit... Range permitting, (or if you will) is the way to go if you suspect a crouching opponent (then again, there's always + too).
I think my main concern, and I have not looked at the total frames to verify this whatsoever, is that I feel that an evaded is wide open, yet I never feel that vulnerability with + .
Guess now's a good time as any other to look at the frames and verify.

Just looked at the numbers and does seem a very comparable choice if used specifically for side-MC. This is how it compares to + :
* More damage (24 vs. 20) -- A factor if two attacks hit at the same time. * Only 1 more total frame (44 vs. 43) -- so vulnerability to evades may only be marginal at best. * 1 frame slower execution -- this is a factor in going for MC, though it is only 1 frame. That said, this is where the total frames difference is from (which probably also means that vulnerability after an evade isn't there). * Execution may actually be the same if you consider the modified (pre-buffered Crouch Dash) requirement of + in most situations. * is half-circular, + is not.
All that said... I still like my finger tips of doom. But you have a good argument for .

One thing to take into consideration is that + will keep the opponent side turned on a normal hit whereas will reset the position...
unless i am mistaken. i dont really play lion much.
