Well I'm not in NYC, I'm on Long Island, which is about an hour or two away, depending upon where in the city you are. I have an apartment in Queens during the semester, but I probably wouldn't step foot in the Bronx, lol, no offense to those who live there. Some areas of Brooklyn are real bad too. Suffice it to say, if you're from NY, you know there are some areas you just don't visit unless you live there. Maybe they're in some of the nicer parts of Bronx or Brooklyn though, I'll check it out. I wish there were some VF arcades around Long Island, but I have not found a single one. I remember we used to have a ton of SFII Champion edition arcades; I kicked everyone's ass! I even beat an Asian kid once, which is an accomplishment in and of itself in SFII.
