got bored and decided to record some practice in dojo. was messing around with combos that start from midscreen into the wall of the taco stage. sorry for the slop, it's unedited and i'm just learning how to use my camera's video function.

 

Good shit today, everyone. I think this was the highest concentration of El Blazes we'll have all year, lol.

 

here is a quick list of how your opponent will land after a specific knockdown for every blaze move that knocks down.

things such as if your opponent lands face up feet away and does exact recovery in place, you can create setups to hit your opponent backturned for an unblockable hit or if they land face down feet towards you know that most mid rising attack will be linear, etc. knowing this, you can narrow down specific things that work well after a knockdown and not have to guess as much what to do in what situation.

I've only figured this out recently so apologies if it's old news again.

Almost any El Blaze combo that ends in KKK lands opponent face up, head towards.

That means you can go for the back crumple with if they rise in place.(which almost never happens...)

 

saw a tweet last night from kissu that he made it to 轟雷神 Gouraishin (God of Thunder) rank. pretty inspiring to see a blaze player be top 3 in the star player league and now make it into the god ranks of arcade.

Before I took a break I was trying to find a consistent basis for that to work but I couldn't, still can't. Mostly nailed stuff on Wolf because he turned around to slow, and stance postioning didn't seem to matter as much as being on 1p side.

Good stuff though!

 

instead of holding 6, try holding 9 when you go into rocket discharge and you will pass them through the background instead of the usual foreground. after blaze says "HAWWWWWWW" and you pass them do whatever move from rd and it will either hit their side or their back. some combinations of moves work better together to hit your opponent backturned.

46k can pass through normally and still hit backwards, same as pppk on hit which is kinda useless unless they tech.

Uhh, they can just block all of those as they turn around automatically to face you no matter are you in their back or side if they just hold G

 

yes they can block everything or even hit blaze out of the run and nothing is guaranteed but there is always the threat of hotdog if you think your opponent will just hold g during rocket discharge.

i've landed the back hit stuff against players, people still freeze sometimes surprisingly. it's just one more option to have.

 

You can apply the exact same mixups from the front like normal, just minus the risk of being beat out of your RD moves, so why bother?
