[IMG]Sega has released details on Kakutou Shinseiki 4, the upcoming national tournament for VF5.

The tournament will take place in 3 stages:

    1. Qualification Stage - to begin in arcades on December 23rd.

    2. Area Knockout Stage - the qualifiers of each area will duke it out to produce the top representatives from each area to enter the next stage, starting from February 17th.

    3. Final Tournament - will take place sometime in the second half of March next year. Pitting the top 48 players of Japan (Fu-do is automatically in this stage) in the final phase to be crowned the best VF5 player in the world.

Refer to the official Kakutou Shinseiki 4 site for details (in Japanese only).

Not really in the whole world now is it?

Although, that person probably would be the best in the world.

You know... Janapn is the VF world. Rest of the "real" world is here just because of the comercial purposes, to gain more money from this game. Authors says it - only in another words - in nearly all interviews.

Now that's a lot of qualifiers... o_0 Btw Srider, last stage is 48 players? Seems weird for the usual Japanese tournament format... It also seems like Sega decided to award a ton of special ranks for 1st stage winners, area winners and national winner... That's cool I guess. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

There are a -lot- of qualifiers... For Otenami Haiken there was only one qualifier in this area at Fukui City's Sega Arena...

For this tournament there are multiple qualifiers not only in Fukui but also in Ishikawa Prefecture (where I live)... Most of them are on different days so Namflow and I will have a few different chances to qualify /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It was 48 people for that FT tourney Sega had. I think it was OH4?

It had Chibita, Homestay and Edo in a weird playoff system or something.

      GLC:

Yeah, previous KS tounaments are all 48 entries.

This is because certain areas have multiple representatives, 1 being the winner of the area tournaments, 2nd being the runner-ups. They are seeded in the national tournament with that in mind.

Also remember qualifying in this first stage does not get you a spot in the national tournament, but rather a spot in the area specific tournaments.
