Lau BT standing P - 10f but can it be considered 16f? (because 6f to return to front facing)

Hi all. I'm a little confused by how effective Lau's standing P from BT is. In the dojo, it says it's a 10f punch but considering it takes 6f to recover to front facing from guard when backturned, does the same apply to attacks or is Lau's BT attack really a 10f attack? Thanks.

What? No, the attack executes in 10f as it says, Lau doesn't turn around like normal and then punch unlike if you would do it manually, but is a BT attack.
