1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. Completely new to this site, so I decided to start my introduction here. I recently saw the Sega Cup and it was very entertaining to see great players going to the offline scene and play at the peak of levels...and I gotta say, they did extremely well and made it all the more enjoyable to see different types of style on how they all play.

The name is DestructionBomb and I come from the DOA community (FreeStepDodge). I'm usually called DB for short. Akira is my main character for DOA5U on a high level as well as the other 3 at a very normal level, probably get better with the other 3 someday if the online wasn't so bad lol but enough about that. I'm a cool swell guy who likes to enjoy games, have a blast with others via mics etc. Nothing makes me more happy than seeing other players happy when they enjoy the game at it's fullest. I'm thinking of playing VF5FS again and hope to develop while making some good friends on the way of improvement.

I can also record & stream as well. I recorded large match sessions spectating players and upload it on youtube. On DOA5U, I also record long online tournaments for the fun of it as well. I was hoping I can also record & spectate long VF matches as well. (Hoping the online isn't too delay heavy and respects actual frame advantage.)

Here is my profile on FSD: http://www.freestepdodge.com/members/destructionbomb.4077/

& Here is my Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/DestructionBombx

I also made a show case combo video with Akira.

^^ Some of these are not guaranteed but rather just for show for enjoyment.

And the rest of it is offline casuals at NYC next level arcades and random online matches.

    online matches:

NYC next level arcades (I'm the one with the long hair & blue shirt):

    Random nonsense lol:

Hopefully i'm not breaking any rules posting links here, but If I am...I apologize and will remove them. But yeah nice to meet you all and hope we can be friends.

    PSN: DestructionBomb

Off topic on this one but if you are playing DOA5U feel free to ask away about the game for help etc.

Hey whats up everyone? New here and found out about this site from @Puno_de_Leyenda. I come from a few other fighting game communities.

I have VF5:FS on PS3 so right now I really suck at this game. I been experimenting with characters I like and love to use Jacky, Lei, Vanessa, Lau, and Aoi.

So if you want a punching bag for practice hit me up. PSN is Gurimmjaw.

Never got around to Introducing myself here. I'm Ten; DOA is my main 3D fighter but it sparked interest in VF for me. I currently play Jean and am looking for players to face and help me level up. Don't hesitate to ask me anything DOA related either; I'm more than glad to help!

And thanks for the links I will be sure to read and go over all this for my character. I have decided that I am going to main Jacky, so he is my focus since I like his style and he is cool. "YEAHH!!!" lol.

It will take time before I see improvements in my game though.

    Hi, everybody.

I'm just a casual Soulcalibur player from Florida and extremely new to VF. Looking to learn how to play with Vanessa and to really discipline myself with fighting games in general. I thought VF would be the best option in order to expand on what I know already.
I mostly play other 3D fighters, and am also trying to get used to 2D fighters. Currently, I do not have internet but in the future when I do get it back I would like to hear feedback and criticism on the way I play so I can improve.

Right now the way I learn is by watching high level tournament videos and try to recreate what I see and then once I get used to that style enough I try to incorporate my own flare to it. I believe it's worked so far for me in Soulcalibur and in Tekken. I hope one day I feel I'm competent enough to attend an offline tournament.

Hiya! Nice to see you make it here!

Watching high-level tourney play is definitely a great way to learn, but don't forget to start with the fundamentals!

Hey, how's it going? The name's Gruff, and I'm a new VF Player, originally from DOA. I'm a La Mariposa player and instantly ran to El Blaze after going through the character screen lol. I'm currently going through tutorials and whatnot to get the hang of the mechanics, but hopefully I can get on my feet quickly so that I can start enjoying the game, and community to its fullest.

Forgot to properly introduce myself. I recently discovered this site but I have been a fan of VF for years. VF5 is the first one I have been trying to get really good at. I took a break from it for awhile and now plan on diving in full force. I saved a bunch of replays that I would be uploading here. So far i have gotten some great advice. To follow that advice i will be sticking with one character and try to master them

Howdy, howdy. New around these here parts. Randomly picked up FS one day, intrigued ever since. I'd like to use the summer to brush up on my skills, as they're sorely lacking. As far as other fighters go, I used to play KOF and recently finished P4A. Not really into either one of them anymore, but I am anticipating P4A2. Go figure.

Started as Pai Chan, branched out to Sarah. I'd like to work on Akira someday, but not until I understand the game mechanics. Or do I even need to? Is it possible to pick up Akira and learn more about the game? Seems like an uphill battle, but one that has a really nice payoff.

Anyway, it's cool to have found a VF hub on the interwebs. Nice to meet you all.

Nice to meet you, glad to see a new player. I play P4A, but I'm still only meh at it, but I'm hyped for P4AU and Xrd.

But yeah, starting out, PLEASE learn the fundamentals. The problem with many VF players now, especially on PSN, is that they are really great with their character, but still bad at the game because their fundamentals are lacking. In short, that means that they appear to be really strong, but when you figure out how to beat their setups (and the thing about VF is that EVERYTHING can be beaten some way), they will be unable to adapt to a new play style and will eventually lose. That's true for every other fighting game too, but it happens alot in VF nowadays.

OK, enough preaching from me. The VFDC wiki is a good place to start learning fundamentals: http://virtuafighter.com/wiki/index/ . You can also check out this really good video too:

If you want to play some Sarah matches or if you want some tips, hit me up on PSN (oBLACKSTARo), or also go to the Sarah forum here on VFDC.

If Akira is who you really want to play, start out with him. Akira (fwik) is much simpler and straight-forward in this version than he has ever been, though he still has some expert-level techniques.

Hi, I just watched your Pai videos in her sub-forum. It's good you have the 3K+G combos down, and like to use the 63214P+G throw, but there's still many more damaging set-ups and techniques to incorporate. When you start going up against stronger opponents, you'll find you need to evade more, and they will hit you with really damaging combos if you don't play a bit safer!
You have two gamer tags listed. I was wondering which console you play on more, and where roughly in the world, do you play from? Cheers.

    EDIT: @Kagamizen
