Vanessa's sideturned game

Ok i found a thread about calculation on ST... Correct me if i m wrong, on oppenent ST if i use the os 4p+k on opponent guard, i ll be +8... Coz it s normally +2 on guard but on ST the 4P+K is 25damages move i ll get +6 frames bonus so 2+6=8... If it s correct, my ST move list will change =)

 

If you have at least +5 sideturned, it will work as you explained.
Still it's not a very good option imo:

-If its blocked it's probably that you could have done a throw instead for some damage, with 4P+K you have 0 damage an +6 and opponent probably out of throw reach.

-If it hits CH, it means you could have done much better damage with a side crumple for ex

-It's high so it will won't beat low punch, and can be crouch.

 

it was just an example to see if my calculation was good... I don t use that move at all but now i understand how to keep pressing =)

OMG. That was beautiful. It reminded me of watching Lions and Eileens.

 

I'm watching the latest vid uploaded by @MakiLeSushi and I noticed that sucessful evade > OS PPK whiffed twice against his opponent (see for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPLHEJKWdv4#t19m40s).

Don't know what's causing this, maybe it's an online thing, but, until someone tests, I would recommend evade > OS PK against wolf.

EDIT: make that 3 times; it happens again at 26:49.

EDIT#2: more fun, @45:20 wolf backdashes, gets hit by DS K there's a yellow flash but the followup KK whiffs

 

@erdraug i think ppk st is stable. Wolf did a backdash after my evade

 

Maybe i wasn't clear enough: evade > OS P connects but the followup PP whiffs. This results in OS PPK getting blocked after landing against a sideturned opponent. This is not supposed to happen since OS PPK is supposed to be a NH combo on sidehit - nevertheless, it happened to you three times in your vid

Since OS PPK side-blocked is still -15 this is no laughing matter. It would be very nice if someone could replicate why/when this happens.

 

For sure i was surprised when it happened i wouldn t finish the string in this case. But as i said it just because opponent bd so it whiffed. Instead of ppk if i did 3k i would get a st crumple.

 

I had to double check; it appears you're right:

6:56 OS P blue flash P whiff
19:40 same
26:49 same

So does this happen against all characters when they backdash or does it only happen against Wolf?

I'm just very surprised because when last year I tested all of vanessa's moves vs a backdashing opponent OS PP didn't have this problem!

So i'm trying to figure if this happens because it's a wolf issue, a sideturn issue - or maybe it happens vs sideturned wolf only? It's very weird, first time I saw it happen as well, your opponent really liked to backdash
