VF5FS at NorCal Regionals 2015 (April 3-5)

Hey all, this is news to me but not only will VF5FS be at NCR this year, but it's one of the main games. Short notice, but I'll try to go if possible and I hope West Coast VF show up.

Registration is open at the NCR website. VF - like most of the lineup - is $5 registration.

What the hell? When did this get announced?

 

it didn't. which is really annoying.

 

it's not a main game and it won't happen unless someone steps up to run it. they pretty much just list all the games and leave it to the community to handle the rest. so far i haven't heard of anybody stepping up to run vf.

maybe those interested in going should contact the organizers to see if anybody stepped up to run it before you start making plans.

also registration is 48 bux to enter and the 5 bux for vf is the pot entry.

 

vf will NOT be at scr this year, so Of anyone wants to come to cali for vf Ncr is the tourny to go to.

@001 none of norcal is willing to play?

 

it's not that nobody is willing to play its more who is gonna supply setups and run the tourney. it can't be me since i'm gonna be doing family stuff that weekend for easter and nobody else has shown any interest.

 

soakrates and airegin are from norcal, no? they were at scr last year, and placed 2nd and 1st respectively - wonder if they're planning to go to ncr. icky, have you talked to any of the socal crew about ncr?

 

plague was responsible for making scr happen; if he can do ncr that would be really cool.

 

Yeah i Forgot set ups are an Issue, I would'nt be able to bring them since I'd plan on taking the train there. @oneida I haven't asked everyone

 

if anybody is interested in running a vf tourney at ncr they need to contact chris ceglia (chris@iplaywinner.com).

ask him what you would need to bring, if internet is available (if you have stream gear), what time slots are available, and any other questions you might feel are important.

Man it was fun watching NCR and SCR VF tournaments in the past, it's a shame how much times have changed.

 

Any news on this? Would like to know, since I'll do what I can to come out if it happens

 

As I told Oneida, NCR usually lacks a VF tournament because no one wants to travel and the Norcal peeps have regular access to one another due to our consistent play sessions. If enough people are wanting to travel then I'll be happy to bring a setup and run a tournament, but I definitely haven't got much of a response from people.

Let's be realistic. Who wants to pay a $60 entry fee + traveling expenses for what pretty much looks like an 8 man tournament?

If you want to travel to NCR, please make a post here and let me know.

 

I would go and bring 2 or 3 setups if enough people are coming. Supposedly Choi said only 2 people are registered for VF and community games with the most entrants will be streamed. So hopefully a bunch of people can make it out.

Its kinda expensive to go even for the locals but I'm willing to do my part.
