1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

It would be awesome to get more vfdc people writing, reading and responding to blog entries because i think it can help the community grow substantially. Would be really awesome if others would partake in helping bloggers and blogs are also a great way of helping newer players relate to the problems or situations they may be in as well.

I would have a go at doing Wolf but I'm already past the basics with the guy.

Maybe when I get around to learning a new character.

Which is going to be either Brad or Lei Fei.

The blog isn't just about the basics. It's about your growth with the char. I'm far beyond eileen's basics but I still have a shitton I need to work on all the same. Do it man start the wolf blog, there are always new strats you're thinking of, old strats you are revising. It's all useful stuff.

I'm without Xbox live or any real competition at the moment.

So all my experience at the moment would be against computer controlled opponents.

I'll give it a bash but I'm not expecting much.

I could see setting up a general blog about competitive play, kinda like what Seth Killian and David Sirlin do, but centering on Virtua Fighter. I'm not a good enough teacher to really blog Goh, though.

Somewhat lengthy, I'm aware but I felt more substance was needed, even if it's somewhat unrelated.

Basically my introduction is about myself, my introduction to the VF scene and how I came to choose Wolf as my character.

    Why document being good already?

It would most likely be a case of:

"Got in from work, jammed on VF5 for a bit, beat up a few people, went to bed. Next day, met up with some decent players went round for round most of the night. Good times."

A blog is not nessecarily about their own learning process. They could start a blog and document things that they deem important to know for their character or VF in general so others can benefit.

I guess the wiki kind of fulfills that purpose but still, everyone has their own distinctive mannerisms.

Be that as it may there is a limit on how much you know about a character.

It would be a documentation of experience with little to no progression.

A written beginners guide by top players would be far more useful to the community than letting us know how they fared against another top level player.

thats what I mean, top level players sharing information that dunces such as I can use.

What works on top level players will rarely work on lower level players.

Yomi is a very big deal in fighting games, and from what I have seen thus far, it is the foundation of VF.

Top level players and low level players do not think and act, accordingly.

Knowing your nikatu and developing your ability to read your opponents is all that is needed to go from high mid level play to top level play.

Similar to knowing your command list and utilizing it effectively takes you onto the lower mid level of play.

Developement within a fighting game is not black and white.

There is far more to it that emulating a top level player.

The information you can get from a top level player is readily available from most mid level players, it's up to you to learn how to apply that knowledge though.

You can't be taught to learn.

    What top players?

Besides, most of what is written in those blogs is already here.
    -----

Aoi combos? There is a thread.

Move observations? Read Dan's wiki posts or my Jeffry/Vanessa threads.

    Etc.

Questions about the game should be raised here, things that don't entail the game should be in individual blogs (masterpro like insights, "be like water" BS).

The info is there, and if it isn't written, post it here so others can help out (though they won't {my personal beef}). The best place to post this stuff is here because others don't have to go anywhere else for info less likely to be accurate (due to lack of oversight {though we're lacking it here as well}).
