Virtua Fighter 6

I think they might outsource this to some other Dev like how Eidos wants indies to develop new games from their old IPs like fear effect.

It could be good or a disaster.

Otherwise, I don't think they'll be making another VF any time soon.

 

I've been thinking that Sega and Team Ninja should collaborate and develop VF6 together. The VF characters look great in DOA and Team Ninja is usually good with the casual side of fighting games, like including a story mode and a CPU vs. CPU thing, so why not? Team Ninja could create the graphics, while Sega develops the fighting system. Although I don't play VF like I used to, it's still one of my favorite games, especially since it jump started me into loving 3D fighters over 2D.

 

Sorry to bust your bubble, but Final Showdown is casual enough. LOL

 

FS was the most casual VF in history, I'm pretty sure it's hard to argue. I don't think you can get any more casual than this.

 

Drop the pessimism man, it's going to happen, no matter who they chose

 

Then I guess VF will stay pure.

Question is, how much work do they need to do to make a new VF worth the current market?

Honestly, they can release Final Tuned and people will still pick it up as a new VF game.

 

So Evo is coming later in Mid July (I think July 17-19) Any chance of an announcement or anything VF related? Also I heard there will be a Sega Con this year. Maybe something announced there?

For Yu Suzuki's Friday Tweet Q &A, someone asked Yu:

"Do you have any idea if Sega's planning on doing a Virtua Fighter 6?

Yu Suzuki's response:

"I have not heard about it from SEGA."

Doesn't necessarily mean that it's not under consideration or being developed beyond Suzuki's knowledge, perhaps "hush hush" , but an insight nonetheless regarding VF6.

 

No real news on it since that Neogaf post last year? I think the posters name was verendus but he said something about 2016 or 17 before you would hear anything. I'm wondering (the child in me clinging to anything vaguely related to VF6) if we won't hear anything official until next year maybe?

 

VF6 will come someday. none of us will play it for years.

 

I must buy Virtua Fightet 6 and Tekken 7!

 

Hopefully with all this hype for Shemnue III, it will lead to giving some attention to VF.

 

I noticed that there is a kickstarter for one of Yu's other games.
Maybe we can message him and really get at him to make a new game will all of the sweetness that we want.
