So basically I want ppl to talk about what they thought of the game initially and then up until now. So I'll go ahead and start this. Honestly, I had two characters in mind that I was going to play due to having extensive playtime with them in the past and them being my mains in VF5 and VF4:Evo. So I start playing Lei-Fei on VF5:FS and immediately see that he has been MASSIVELY nerfed beyond all recognition. It now makes sense why the asians have him at D Tier. Moving on...so I switch over to Kage who actually hasnt been changed that much since VF4:Evo. So I can operate him similar to how I use to, along with learning some of the better moves they've given him for MDP. Overall the game seems decently balance and legit for the most part. It just wasnt fun for me initially due to being in awe about how Lei-Fei pretty much got his butt pissed in by sega programmers. Other than that I really dont have any other objections....

P.S. Lion is OP OP OP OP Nerf Akira =D

I think it plays spectacularly. I feel that the menu design and options took kind of a hit, but overall, I am very satisfied with this.

I lol'ed at that comment about Sega pissing on Lei Fei; My 1st day opinion on FS as a Goh player has been pretty mixed, the game itself is totally amazing I like it more and more each time I play it but on the downside I hardly recognise my main character anymore, I know he got buffed but using him atm is fraustrating, its like I've got to relearn him all over again, funny thing is when I use Aoi or Vanessa they feel the same as vanilla even though they also received several changes, I know at least two other Goh's who feel the same as I do, that aside though I have no complaints at all its easily the best fighter to come out this year.

The first time i played FS, i felf really dissapointed, the game timing was kinda different, i didnt knew what i was doing. I it seems that all my skill had gone in a instant. However, once i got used to the system more. I was throwing special moves and juggles in no time. I actually couldnt put the game down.

I hate some of the changes of kage (my main). They took of throws i used to do, and they change the input of some of them too. Maybe thats why i was so bad as him at first.

The customization was okay. I wasnt amazingly stun about it nor dissapointed
However it sucks that i had yet to fight someone online with customization. I want them to see my customization... Oh well...

The netcode was flawless. Really good, though i did got disconected some times.
Was it worth the wait: i dont know, i have to check the game more to find out.

Between being rusty and the system/character changes, I was almost taken back and felt like a scrub again (Which I don't mind, I love learning VF). Once the game began to click and I adjusted to the new pace of things, I realized it's still the same game I love.

EDIT: I will say I am bummed about the removal of some moves and throws from some characters. But overall I feel every character got more flare and style added so I'm ok with it.

Oh and it's petty I know but I can't tell you how elated I am that both 1P and 2P can use custom characters offline now. What Tekken/VF/SC have failed to do with current gen's profile system, SEGA finally addressed it for FS! Again it's a petty thing, but it makes our gatherings that much more enjoyable to me.

My Blaze feels like hell, but I love the new stuff they gave me. I just...have to rebuild where I started on trying to be moral and learn frames.

ok, first time i played VF5FS (the morning after i downloaded it on release day), i was already pumped for Lion's new moves and combos. they took a weak, not-as-combo-savvy Lion from Vanilla 5 and made him into a combo maniac with his new strikes. still not as strong as others with his combos, but he's still fast and his mix-ups are still enough to give even hardcore veterans headaches. i was VERY pleased with Lion in this one, and his customization options aren't bad either. lol

since then, i've been playing for several hours in my downtime outside of work and summer class (which ended today btw, now just waiting for the second half) and i realized Eileen isn't as easy to re-learn this time around as she was in Vanilla 5. not that that's a bad thing, but it deterred me from using her that much so far (but i'll work on it since she's one of my favorites).

i just started using Taka late yesterday evening and WOW do i love his combos! he's not very fast which could be a problem for me but his combos are so fun it's awesome to use him. mine isn't rocking that nice of a customization (so far just a black suit and fedora) but i love his style of play. i may have found a nice backup for Lion when i'm in a rut with him. on top of that, though, my brothers are probably not enjoying their characters so far as much as i am. my twin brother uses Lei-fei and he isn't very impressed with the new moves although they added a needed dimension to his predictable strategies. my younger brother uses Akira and he loves the new moves but is very disappointed with the stuff they removed from his move set.

TL;DR version: Lion is what i expected (awesome), Eileen will take some more getting used to, Taka-arashi is AWESOME. [IMG]

Awesome was my first impression. The`new throw system is pretty coo. I thought it'd be real weird not having [2] or [1]/[3] as a finishing throw direction. But from the couple characters i've tried, it's fine.

The movement and dash canceling feels great.

I'm lovin Akira and all his new moves. One thing i'm having a little trouble with is I keep doing his new [6]+[P][K] when i'm trying to shoulder ram since they changed it to end in [3] instead. I'm debating on weather to keep trying to do my ol shoryuken type motion, but ending with [3] instead of [6] (like I keep doin :/) or just simply doing [3][3] to do it like all the other charge moves that end with [3]. I think ima just go Yoho style to do his shoulder rams now.

2 things though, was kinda sad to see the [6]+[P] input in his Dragon Lance Combo taken out, makes it too easy execute in my opinion. And the Body Check, my goodness hahah. I feel kinda cheap doing that thing. So much damage. Evade to Body Check ftw.

Overall, this game is amazing to me. I absolutely love it.

^ This; when I first downloaded FS, it didn't take long for me to get punched in the face when I tried to sabaki a punch with P+K. And while I'm a little frustrated about having to learn Goh again, I also like what I've seen so far of what he is now.

In addition, when I was messing around with Brad, I was pleasantly surprised by just how smooth and crisp everything felt compared to 5. For lack of a better way to describe it, the moves felt like they had much more flow.

Oh, and now I can give Goh eyebrows. That's a plus.

Great game overall... i just have to get accustomed to the nuance of the game.. i have to understand the core basics are still there but they just look different. I have to remind my self that im a low level player atm the and i will lose due to the learning process... I need understand certain flow charts are different than before. Long as we got a new VF to play ill make time to understand the mechanics.

Update: Lei has been Bitched Out somewhat, but his game is still one of the best mix ups in the game. I've been trying a lot of some of the old combos I use to use a lot and they've been either toned down or they don't hit like they use too.

Yeah man Lei Fei is definitely rougher than before.

Fiend ggs man. this is a hella different game now but you got a majority of the new Jacky tech on deck. This guy is super powerful, he can net ALOT of damage off of his stuff.

In vanilla, i never felt it was important to pay attention to half circular moves. I would just work with 50% chances, either ill hit you/get hit or not. But now, bad evade attempts put you into a MC-able state, so everyone's half circular moves/strings combo and are guaranteed. Jacky's 4p+k is very strong for this reason (even though it launches on NH)

So, i think evading is much more risky than before, and with no 0f throws and east throw escapes, if youre unsure its best to just try blocking

But yeah man, i was impressed with your jacky lol. whooped me up. we always go for the swag combos

Quoted for Truth My dude. You made me fear the shit out that backhand for not paying attention to evading detail. Ill learn as i go along though. Jacky VS jacky is always a random encounter for me. I know how to fight a VF5 vanilla jacky but this bastard is a monster. I needed that session though so i can see what i will need to work on and how to identify the new things in week one.

First impressions were:

Ah this feels like VF. Oh wait... I have no idea what any of the moves are!

I've almost gotten my Lau back to sub competent level after a few hours. Really liking 6K.

Sarah, I have no clue how to use her up close. I just get punched a lot and can't get anything started.

First impression, game sounds like ass on both consoles. No 5.1 or Uncompressed audio. That was my biggest fear, and it came true. If you're going to do the game in stereo, at least mix it right. The Mixing in this game is horrendous. Skull Girls has amazing channel mixing and sound, no excuse SEGA.

Other than that, game is awesome [IMG]

My only gripes are that they took out the quest mode and made us pay for character customization, other than that I love it.

Before Final Showdown was even announced for console, I just wanted it to be released and did not care if it was a bare bone package. Anything else that came with it was a plus.

I was willing to pay retail price for the game, and it was cheaper than that.

So I am very happy with the content.

you're right and it was technically only $15, but if they were in vanilla, why take them out?! (For the $$$ I know) that's just my way of seeing things.
