I was boring yesterday and lurking YouTube, I found this funny M.U.G.E.N. vid:

well, that Akira is basically a modified Ryu/Ryo Sakazaki. Then I thought...Akira in a 2D fighter?
After a moment, I remember this:

Yeah, Virtua Fighter 2 for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, is an insult to VF fans, but we are not in the 90s. We have another tools and technology. The bidimensional fighter games are now in the apex. The idea behind this, is keep all the core gameplay (including frames, staggers, guard breaks, juggles, wall combos...everything) of VF5: FS (we can replace sidesteps, with a background evade, like Dhalsim's Yoga Tower in SSF IV...) with the 2D appealing; a kind of "spin off" to the series, targeting EVO players. :D
    It's a bad idea?

It could be done... even the evades. Think of mode 7 SNES rotation of the background.

Yeah, but not in that way. Just like SSF IV, SFxTK, MK9, Injustice or UMvsC3...3D models and stages, with a strictly linear movement. We can merge the best of both worlds: the complexity/balance of VF mechanics, with the "easiest" learning curve of 2D fightings.

I'd prefer something similar to Anime Fighters, not the 2Ds you mentioned, I mean, VF has a lot of defensive and offensive options, so I think a 2D VF should be more dinamic in that way, but yeah...it could be interesting ;)

Good point. I never use M.U.G.E.N. so I have no idea, but I can try it and experiment with frames on a generic character...almost all the info is in the Commands section. What is the character with less moves? Goh?
