1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

A Few Questions

Hey guys, I just had a few quick questions for the community.

I have VF5 Online for the 360, but I do not play as much as I would like to. However, I picked it up after the community around me started to die down so I never really found people to play online. I also did not know many people into fighting games at the time (as of now, that has changed). More likely than not, I would have people offline and online to play with. I know it doesn't cost much, but is there a big difference between the two games? Basically, do you guys think it would be worth it to pick up VF5:FS if I already have VF5 Online?

Also, I've read about the customization packs you can buy for the characters. Apparently, it unlocks some mode if you buy all the packs? Can someone explain that to me. And are there still a lot of items in game to unlock without buying those packs?

Sorry for noobish questions, any help is greatly appreciated.

It's definitely worth picking up FS if you only have VF5 Online on Xbox. While the fundamentals will carry over, the game is really quite different. It's almost like going from Super Turbo to Third Strike in some ways (might be a bit extreme but apt).

The custom packs are completely optional, the only gameplay mode they unlock is 'Special Sparring' which is a mode where you fight AI 'teams' that are all customised to a certain theme (Beach theme, Music theme etc). Without the packs you can only use the default A and B costume, no customisations. I would say grab the game now while it's on sale, and then decide later if you want the costume packs, since the price hasn't changed on those.

Hey, thanks for the helpful feedback. Also, thanks to the people I talked to in the shoutbox. I picked up the game on Monday, and it was a great choice. I'm still getting back into the game, so no online matches just yet.

Oh cool, special sparring sounds like a cool feature. But, do you know if those items packs will ever go on sale or not?

But, thanks again for the feedback guys.

No idea if they would ever go on sale, but I wouldn't bank on it.

If the account that bought the game has a specific region then the market place where it goes is the same, no matter where you go. I also think the data doesn't have any kind of region lock but who knows? Anyway the gamertag is the key, if the gamertag bought both the game and customizations packs then you'r good.

Unfortunately, I bought the game with one gamertag and have money in my other gamertag wallet, :(. So I think I have to keep that money for something else. Thanks for the reply btw.
