1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. Hey there.
If you are a noob like me, you probably have wondered, "HOW THE FUCK DO I ESCAPE THROWS!!"
Well, nothing is easy, and this needs practice also. Today, I will be sharing some points as to how to practice Throw Escapes on your PS2.

Yes, you do have good ol' Challenge mode that has automatic settings to help you practice, but I've found Free Training mode a lot more efficient when practicing throw escapes.

First, Choose what the hell ever character you use, then choose Akira(optional) as your dummy. When the training starts, put the display setting type to Type B, and record Akira's throw. To do that, go to record, then record [P],[6][P],[1][6][P]+[G] for action 1, [P],[6][P],[3][P]+[G] for action 2, and [P],[6][P],[6][6][K][K] for action 3. Almost there now.

Now go to playback options, and set the percentage of all three action to 33%(one action has to be 34%). Then let the training begin!

When you look at the command display, one block represents one frame, so keep that in mind. Now when Akira does [P], then immidiately, elbow Akira, and Akira will hit you with counter hit. Immediately, evade, input two throw escapes([3][P]+[G] and [6][P]+[G]), then hold on to the G after the last throw escape. If you did that successfully, then you will escape the throw, and guard the two hits ([6][6][K][K] you recorded earlier).

This guide may be extremely vague, since I wrote it in 3 minutes, but I hope it helps all the noobs.

oh, btw, the name of this technique you will be practicing, is called Evade Double Throw Escape Guard Cancel.

    have fun!

    just something to add...
you have to hold on to the Guard at the end, becuz if the opponent performs striking attack that is two hits, then you will evade the first one, but get hit by the second one.

make sure you have the display command type B on.
It tells you what you are doing right and wrong, and can be very useful

I just want use this thread to say someting:

DO YOU GUYS DO THE EvadeThrowEscapes ALL THE TIME?

You know EvadeThrowEscapes has his good point, But did you know EvadeThrowEscapes has his Bad part too.

If you do EvadeThrowEscapes after you gu-attacks(like lion's [8][P]+[K]), you Evade, press [8], at this moment, you opp do not throw or attack, you are in big TROUBLE, after you did [8], than you opp can throw you very easily. and now you must do Throw Escape again!

    Just some advice!
