1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

I'm currently planning on making a Video Game Club in the region where I live. I want to make a hompepage for the club and the first thing that came into my mind was VFDC ^-^ I've always loved the VFDC homepage, forums, calendar and the shoutbox.

Would be nice if you could give me some suggestions on which forum I should use, what needs to be changed, implemented etc.

I'm still in the planning phase and if I get enough members I'll make the Club Homepage with link to VFDC as link No.1 of course ^-^

If you scrolled down to the bottom of the pages, there is a link to the UBB website that, I think, VFDC is built on.

Yup UBB seems nice. Most features are integrated. I tried to use phpBB, the install was easy but most features I want are missing and modding it is hell XD

How are the news posts on the main page managed? Is that an UBB feature/mod or is it selfmade? I've tried the UBB demo but the demo does't show much since it shows only the user part.

You said that you tried the UBB.threads demo, but couldn't find the main page feature? It's definitely part of the standard package (i.e. not a separate mod).

I think it's turned off by default, so you will need to enable it in the admin control panel. It's referred to as a "Portal" and is fully configurable. With the VFDC portal (main/index page) the news posts are automatically shown from the News forum. So when a new post is made in the News forum, it automatically appears on the front page.

What features did you specifically want that aren't available in phpBB? The nice thing about phpBB is that it's free, and has a pretty active community behind it. Check out OzHadou. It's an Australian (2D) fighting game site that's powered by phpBB.

An alternative, and popular, forum package you may want to also consider is vBulletin which is what SRK and TekkenZaibatsu use.

PhpBB itself is nice but it doesn't have a caledar. The calendar is priority no 1. The club meetings won't be always at the same place and same time. Then not all players play the same games so there will be different meetings. I would prefer a free one too for the start but they are mostly lightwight and modding them is really time consuming.

-Simple Machines Forum seems to be nice has a build in calendar ^-^ currently testing it.

-I think I'll stick with SMF for now.

Well I made a forum with SMF: http://rmsc.tk

I'm not sure where to put links to other pages. Would be nice if you can give me some tips ^-^

-If I want to add a header with links I need to change the webspace provider. How much traffic does VFDC generate? I don't think my forum will generate as much traffic but I can calculate what I should use then. The one I want to use costs 2,70€/month & has 200MB space and 20GB traffic.
