Mr. Bungle, that story doesn't even make sense. Just because someone has a bloody chainsaw doesn't mean you can keep them at the border. And they did keep him at the border, it's just that he had an American Citizenship, so they can't do anything but let him through.

vanity...i posted the link, not mr. bungle. he supplied the better link.

    and what the shit?

    a guy carrying
    1) a homemade sword
    2) a hatchet
    3) brass knuckles
    4) a bloody chainsaw

needs to be turned over to the police. i'm pretty confident were i in the border control agent's position, i could find a lawyer good enough to convince a jury of my peers that this kidnapping or false arrest count the state has me on is a tad goofy considering the BLOODY FUCKING CHAINSAW.

it ain't such a gamble now, is it?

more reason to take care, actually. But since we only really care about border security when the threat is theoretical this story doesn't really come as a suprise.

    Canadian Chainsaw Massacre

How about we err on the side of caution when dealing with bloody chainsaw wielders? I would risk violating the rights of the, uh, friendly guys with bloody chainsaws if it would help catch psychopaths.

Well yeah sanjuro, but they can only hold him so long. And they held him for as long as they felt that they could.

But wasn't he already a suspect. I mean wasn't he being wanted by the police? So that technically means that it's okay to hold someone longer than standard if they have reason to believe that he/she is a suspect in a crime right?

But even if he wasn't wanted, still isn't it a bit suspicious for a guy to be coming in with a BLOODY chainsaw and a bunch of other deadly weapons in their bag.

Thats understandable, but the guy also had a bunch of other weapons that are not used in the cutting of animals. He had swords and machetes and I don't think I have heard of many people using swords to cut an animal for food.

    Re: Canadian Chainsaw Massacre

He DIDNT have any charges against him in either country at the time he tried to cross the border. The police were already suspicious of him for carrying so many weapons, but since there are any of a million legitimate reasons why he could be carrying them, they couldn't arrest him just for posessing weapons and a bloody chainsaw.

and ill say it again, its not an unbelievable thing to hear of someone using a chainsaw to kill an animal in smaller agricultural communities.

    Animal Beatdown

Don't forget some hunters like to use brass knuckles to rough up bears and deer and whatnot.

duh, they have to soften them up first otherwise they'd be there forever with their chainsaw.

Sample question to ascertain whether man in custody is homicidal A-Hole or merely a person from smaller agricultural community: "say there, you wouldn't happen to have a hunting license would you?"

y'know. I grew up in a tiny town with a bank that only opened when the factory paid its employees. I moved from there to spend 5 years on a dairy and beef farm. At no point did anyone ever relate a story of "cussin rhett" killing an animal with a chainsaw. I have no idea what back woods, in-bred, x-files communities you're talking about but things sure must be mighty different in the America's.

Call me crazy, but somehow I can't fathom Jacky's 3ppp as a valid option vs a bear. (bear slash = 100pts/150pts w/o tech roll...)
