Airmaster

I started watching this interesting Anime called Airmaster and I find it to be pretty cool. Awesome fight scenes and the anime overall is pretty damn funny.

Now whats a street fighting anime without some video game references. In the first episode I started snickering to myself when i saw two of the main characters playing this arcade game that had a character that looked like pai fighting a character that looked like sarah. I thought maybe it was just my vf induced hallucinations kicking in, but later on in the anime the "airmaster" is challenged by this ridiculous loooking akira knock off . You can imagine my surprise when he bust her ass with a mean DLC. The next episode has the charries going to a VF tournament where you see ghetto vf2 kage, pai sarah and akira players . It was pretty cool though, I guess the creator must be a fan of the series.

Try as I might I find it difficult to find pics of the anime though I did find an episode guide with some screen caps.

Hmm, it's been a while since I've seen anime but I think I caught a glimpse of this when I was in NYC.

.... Isn't there also a scene where some dude gets his face bashed by a bike rider's tire? (It was one of the most ludicrous maneuvers I've ever seen)

 

yep thats Airmaster. There is a a street fighter that uses his bike as a weapon. Lots of unique charries in this anime

 

this series sucks ass, I watched it when it first came out. It's so ridiculous I couldn't finish the first episode.

Is this anime series on cable or have I been blind through my daily tv watching. I would seriously like to see ANY type of fighting anime right about now. The only type of toon worth of even a glimpse is Yugi-Oh.

 

You should watch the VF anime. =P It's pretty funny.

Most anime on in the states right now either isnt worth watching or is old, though read or die looks promising. Mainly I just watch fansubs nowadays.

their are tons of fansubbed or buyable anime out there if you like pure fighting. Naruto comes to mind as does DBZ which is old but good, Airmaster , tenjou Tenge, the street fighter series was so so , but worth a look if you are into the games.

Right now I am watching Hajime No Ippo which is a really good boxing anime. So far its been pretty entertaining.

I been looking for the VF anime, though it looks more kiddie oriented than fighting based.

 

Oh I've seen the street fighter anime since I was a kid. I want to watch anime, but I want to see some series not just movies. Anyone remember the name of that anime with a kid that is really good at soccer. I can't remember the name of the show, but all I know is that the kid's life was saved from a soccer ball. Man I really loved that anime. If any of you got any good anime just give me names and I'll go and hunt for them. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Capitain Tsubasa?

 

You sure? The kid was given a soccer ball when he was a todler and he was playing and a bus hit him, but the bus hit the ball and saved him. He used to be enemies with a star catcher from the other team, but then they became friends. Man I really miss that show. IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFO IF THE SHOW IS PLAYING, JUST TELL ME SO THAT I CAN CATCH IT.

I'd suggest watching Naruto. Can't go wrong with kid ninjas with super powers. Its the only anime I go out of my way to watch.

Yeah that's the one. To be honest, I haven't seen that show since I was young so you can imagine that it's a little hard to remember. But I went and researched and found what I was looking for. THANX A MILLION, that brought back some really awsome memories for me.

Now my other question is where I can catch it. I really miss that show. I'm so sick of these sissie ass American toons that are so damn childish. They don't even show any good quality action because they think some dumbass kid is going to go on a rampage. *sigh* [Akira PH has a sad look in his face] /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

 

That show is called Captain Tsubasa. They made another series a few years ago to coincide with the World Cup called the Road to the World Cup. You might give that a try since the old old old Captain Tsubasa is about Inter Highschool Soccer. I too recommend this show and I agree that nowadays most anime are simply mindless ripoff actions.

Well, what type of anime do you like? Fighting? Samurais? Romance? Comedy? Give me some subgenres and I'll give you the titties. I mean titles.

I love fighting, action, and sports like captain tsubasa.
But most importantly fighting and action (like Transformers).
