Well, I see so many, so very many post about akira, his attacks combos etc, what about the reversals!! they kick major ass, they are so good.

I was wondering how often people use them, i try to get in a couple every match, but the most i got was 10(5 rnds) against jeffrey

In the very small amount that I use Akira, I do use reversals. Considering he's the only one besides Aoi that can reverse any low linear attack, which comes in handy.

This has always been my argument when saying that Akira is a well rounded character. No full crescents, but he's top-notch pretty much every where else.

http://www.mfr.jp/video/acho_vf_20030713e.wmv be amazed at the power of Akira's reversals.

This player is one of the top (overall too) Akira players, and obviously he knows reversals well, take a look at this video. He just won the Japanses National title, his name is Minami Akira. He is one of few (maybe only) player to have a 90%+ win ratio on VF.Net, enjoy!

It is a large file though, hope you have a good connection.....

Also, does anyone have any Oshu vids of him using reversals, I can't find any? (His KSII matches have reversals though I don't know which ones they are, as they are labled like Kaku1234_56 oh well /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif)

Chibita had a 90%+ win ratio for quite some time.

Thought I'd also mention Hakkusion Lau did as well as Homestay Akira.

It's rare, definitely. There's also a guy who owns a vf.net enabled machine and just beats up dummy opponents to get the top ranking on vf.net, 100 percent or close to it.

No no, sorry, I mean who currently has a 90%+ win ratio, I am very aware that Chibita and Homestay had 93% win ratios for like their first 1000 matches, which is not easy at all.

Minami Akira is the only player who currently has a 90%+ win ratio, who also has over 500 matches played now, I think anways.....

Wonder how many matches he has now.....

I remember an Akira player named "Teppei" who was at 92% with over 3000 matches played a few months ago (he's in a few Daioh clips). I'm not sure what his win% is now.

A Lau player called Rock (the winner of the Lau title match?) had 96% when I saw him in Akhibara. Rolled off a nice 60-something win streak before beating CPU Dural. I contributed three of those wins, but I was SO DAMN CLOSE in one of my matches; had him down to 20 points and had MC low punched him but elected to throw attempt...only to be PPPed to death, argh.

I always try for a few in each fight but any more and it looks like you're trying too hard.Akira has much more damage potential than just relying on reversals. To use them properly you need to have good yomi play and be able to "condition" people to react the way you want them to do.Thing with ais is that they very often go for the same combos wheras humans mix up attacks.Check out the Akira guide for lots of useful advice:

btw theres replays of both homestay and ohsu akiras using reversals on the evo dvd though neither use them a lot.

A lot. There are actually two people (or one guy w/ multiple ringnames).

I saw the guy that definitely owns his own, and did since the pre-evo days. He has a Ha-oh Pai (the color behind the text is Gold - FYI).

    *Checks VF.net*
    Under the Consecutive Win Records:
    Braumaster: 2303 Consecutive Wins
    Jantotsu: 1201 Wins
    Braumaster: 983 Wins
    Braumaster: 954 Wins
    Something DC Bancho: 817 Wins
    This goes on until #13:
tsuchiya Joe 386 Wins (this is the guy I saw that owns a cabinet)

There's the possibility these guys own a game center, build up cards, and sell them on Yahoo Auctions.

Under the highest # of wins:
    Jantotsu: 49,482
    Tsuchiya Joe: 30,232

The only one I see in the top 10 that I *KNOW* is legit is:
    Kashuradou Mukki Akira: 14,891
I'm sure others in there are legit though.
