I've sticked with Akira for a long time.

I've not tried other characters much. Infact i don't think i played online with a different character even once.

My thought is "If i can't win with Akira against someone then i am not good enough, and it's not the character but me that is at fault".

I've grown to like Akira's playstyle. Sadly he is a very hard character to master.
There are tons of combos he has that i have not pulled off even once.

And onces i have pulled off aren't so easy , and will be so very hard to pull off + time it right against a pro player.

    So i got a question:
Who's your favourite character to play as ?
And how did you come to conclusion of that character being suited for you?

no ur not stupid i like aoi cuz having her amazing defense right at my finger tips feels empowering i hate blocking in all games and noobs often beat me cuz i cant tell what they will do or button mashing but that wont work on aoi i often feel sad she isnt flashy and she doesn't do 170 damage combos easy but her defense for me is worth it now you just find akiras weaknesses and strengths and see if you think the good out weighs the bad that how i choose a character

The best characters cover your weaknesses and make you a more complete player overall. You will defend better and attack more effectively and have a natural sense for the character that helps you against the harder opponents you face. It will be the exact opposite feeling using the wrong character and something about them will throw you off and their basic game will be harder for you than it should be. That is why you should be playing the characters that fits your style and personality when you want to be at your best.

For me Pai fits my personality like a perfectly fitting glove. She has the right amount of offensive ability and defensive ability to fit my requirements for the perfect VF character. I am not a big fan of graplers or high damaging characters and I don't like aoi because she is too good defensively for my tastes. I like to have a good balance of the 2 and I find it in Pai the most. I have an easier time making tough adjustments with Pai as well. It is considerably harder for me to do that with any other character even Lau who seems to play similar to Pai in general. That is the kind of thing you should be looking for in your character who ever it is you pick. At least that is what I think anyway

Of course, my favorite character to play as is Eileen for a few reasons. The biggest reason being that she feels natural for me to use. What I mean by that is, I do not feel like I have to "work" to execute her simple moves; now granted there are combos that I can not pull off, & do not yet feel comfortable doing in a real fight, but I think building effective habits with a character and getting to know your character inside out is what'll make you strong. Knowing other characters will make you a stronger fighter as well. Try not to worry about nailing those combos too much until it just comes natural to you through practice. Hell if you have to peck your op to death, whatever gets the job done. Just freestyle it, the combos will come eventually through practice.

My favorite to use is Akira.

I picked him cause I liked his fighting style the best of all the characters, and his move list. Those are the main things. I also like what you have to do to get his moves to come out. I like moving around a lot n trying to be quick. So having some extra inputs to do this or that is fun for me.

Now this is just my opinion here. Just cause you can't win with Akira doesn't necessarily mean you're not good enough at the game. Just not good enough with your guessing game with Akira. At the same time, some players you're going to have a hard time beating regardless of who you pick. But then there's some players you may have an easier time beating or hangin with by using a different character. Simply cause you can make things happen with less effort. Like for me, sometimes I have an easier time using Jean against some players, even though I barely know how to play him. Sometimes I do worst when I pick Jean hahah. Just cause I haven't put myself through the fire with him as much as I have Akira. Plus I don't know all his moves, and only know bout 1 or 2 combos with him.

I've used Akira since I started playing VF. Go with who you have fun using. I played Akira for 2 years before I tried to learn another character. And don't be afraid to venture off into other characters. Akira will still be there if you wanna go back :)

The right attitude to have. :) I try to remember this whenever I think about my losses. Try some other characters - maybe you'll find someone you like more than Akira. Just stick to a character you like playing. I think enjoying a game is much more rewarding than enjoying a win.

I picked Kage back in VF4 because he combines speed with power, and he's very flashy. Plus, ninjas for life :ninja:
Love playing as El Blaze too because hot dog!

I picked Eileen because the character marker started on her in vanilla.

I started with Pai because she seemed more noob friendly back in VF2. I'm actually trying to learn Akira now, and wish I would have started sooner. It was either him or Shun, but Shun seems too hard to me. I seem to do best with brad for reasons I can't explain. Don't really know any of his moves. But he's such a dick character, I can't stand him.. :)
