Angered player needs help

I need some help in playing Kage, especially against characters like Lau, Lei and Blaze. I'm trying real hard to use the defense move to help get around moves but I cant do it consistently enough to get out of attacks enough times. Every time I go against Lei the cpu does all this moves the second I try to hit that seems to out prioritize my attack. And whenever I fight Lau, they do the same two punch hits over and over that I try to block and evade but it wont do it! It gets to a point where I just dash back and try to evade before I even attack because I'm afraid it'll just get knocked out of. Can someone please give me advice before I loose my mind and smash my arcade stick in a fit of rage? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

 

Seems you have general problems and not just playing Kage. It takes a lot of patience playing against those characters.

It definitely needs a bit more knowledge about their moveset to counter or pressure them properly once you are successful in blocking and evading.

What is your strategy with Kage, what are the moves you use regularly?

One move that works well against high attacks is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. It ducks under high, netting you a combo. So if you guess that they'll do another high attack, go for it. Keep in mind though that the move is generally slow so it will lose to fast mids; generally in close range.

 

My Strategy? Usually its peddling back and evading until an enemy tries to run in, then poke them once or twice. Then if they're close I try doing P or downP, then either backdash, downP+K into Shippu or his forewardP and one of his stances. When I'm waiting to poke, it can be his down-forewardK, forewardP or back-forewardP+K into Shippu. Any Ideas?

 

I think you need to be more aggressive. Don't back dash and evade too much. But when I say aggressive don't just throw out his big moves either.

Keep up the pace once you get the advantage. Kage has great mixups and incredibly deadly once you get your opponent defensive. The idea is to set them up for the TFT: regular, ring-out, or wall combos (/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif:b:/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif).

btw dpont evade unless you're pretty sure your opp. is gonna attack. else you get a failed evade and are pretty much screwed.
