Any advice on how to loosen up a joystick?

I just recently got a joystick from someone. Everything is fine except for stick itself. It's very stiff and I have trouble CDing. I would appreciate any input. Thanx.

 

Is this a new one or used one?

If it is a new one, it might going to get loosen up when

you use it for a certain period of time. (I am saying it

from my own experience though)

If it is a much used one, and you feel a stiffness with

the stick, then it might not a good one for you.

 

It's an old one. Waaaaay back from 1996 lol. I think I'll see if I can just get replacement for the stick itself. Thanx for the advice.

 

Have you tried cutting the spring, or at least changing it?
