i do this often on live after performing a combo after gut, vital (lei doesn't have this collapse), or head collapse if ur opponent techroll away or toward the screen u can enter dP+K+G and time P+K to hit ur opponents back.u can also use om p to back stagger then input bffP+k for a back crumple but have 2 predict the direction of their techroll. timing can be tricky but 2 practice in dojo turn on cpu recover from falls on and master the timing. It works for every character thank u vf4 evo tutorial

You get the chance for backstagger every time your opponent techrolls from a hit after stomach crumple stun. (they land head toward face down when you hit them in the stomach crumple). I tend to do that after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif too.

So does it matter what juggle you do, will they always land head toward face down? Just a matter of whether or not you have time to get into stance and p+k them at the right moment, I guess?

Yeah, but you wont get a backstagger if they quickrise on spot though. Only if they techroll and expose their back.

i did this against aoi 2_6P(gut collapse) 2P 3PP+K+G(ura nehan shiki) PPP OM P the techroll 466P+K (back collapse) then combo. another way is 2_6P(gut collapse) 2P 1P+K(bounce) PPG OM P or PPP+K+G(hai shiki) P+K the techroll if they recover away or toward screen

So it has to be a side tech, instead of in place tech. How big is the window to hit this if they side tech and give you their back?

its a small window but timing is key if u do P+K from hai stance or OM P too early or late ur opponent can capitalize on the whiff attack. at the moment that ur opponent hits the ground input the om p towards their techroll or p+k them from hai stance

There is a way if opponent is knocked down in feet towards-face down situation and does a quickrise on spot, you can backstagger them also. However I dont remember anything that forces such a situation with Lei. In that situation wou wont get backstagger from sidetech.

I didn't get many matches tonight but i was messing around in training and found an undeniably simple way of perfectly timing a hai /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif against a backturned techroll. If the process is done sequentially without lag it works like a charm

    head collapse > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif (fastest input)

It's possible to do without the forward dash but using it will bring you closer to your opponent after the lunge

Its a great combo if people fall for it. People only need to be told about why it happens and then it rarely will connect afterwards.

This is a VF4 combo and it only works on noobs and possibly the computer. Anyone who is 6dan+ VF4 will not fall for this type of play.

    RULE:
    If you :
    + fall head towards opponent
    + face down
    : Never ever TECH ROLL

The above will happen on the following scenarios:
    Head Crumble + dmg
    Wall splat + dmg
(the +dmg is required as a TR otherwise wouldn't be possible while falling down)

Lei Fei happens to have many very useful head crumbles, moreso than most other chars:
    ie:
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif > koko:/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif
    - great due to the advantage on first attack on block
    - koko stance's sabaki is basically the the best in the game, its so good that people learn how to deal with it that it becomes practically useless from 4dan onwards. Yields head crumble.

On head crumble its almost just as good to do the bounce combo:
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif
    for guaranteed damage.

    The famous 90% combo:
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif > koko:/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif > */forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif

The thing I noticed is that most people recognize the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif from head crumble move as a sign to not tech roll. You can actually trick most number dans and kyus with alternative situations.

    Examples:
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif
    (on counter) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif
or any combo that leaves the opponent in the head toward face down (htfd) position on tech roll.

The thing is, its the property of the techroll from that particular position that leaves them vulnerable to the back stagger... It doesn't matter how they get there.

Similarly, the in place recovery from the head away face down position has the same property, so you can do the same back stagger from there that you can from the htfd techroll.

Now most people (aside from vf####) don't stagger recover from it because they're too busy having their minds blown... so youre pretty good after the back stagger from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to follow up with something like:

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif(hold) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif(hold) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif
    etc.

if you're really lucky though, you might be able to pull something like this off tho...

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif(hold) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif (wall splat) + (insert favorite wallsplat combo here)

thats my take on the situation.

for the record: 90% of the time, if you land a back stagger, it means by the time you're done, the opponent is left with about 90% of his original health.

Also, help other lei's out... if you notice your opponent doesn't techroll from the htfd position, encourage him to do so... after the head crumble /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif throw out a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif afterwards instead of going for the back stagger. It'll net 3 extra hits (and also give you the option of walking away a little then /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif after their rising attack for that little bit of extra damage) , and give them a reason to techroll... And help us all out by turning this into a good game of paper rock scissors that we don't have to train every opponent for... If they in-place recover... just dash forward and throw em or something... no matter what they do, they should eat extra damage for taking a head crumble, so we need to band together and give it to em!:)
