Anyone playing the game here? It was released about week ago here and I played it throught with my friend. Gonna start expert level alone soon.
Excellent action-RPG(nearly perfect?), too short maybe, only 20 hours...althought replayability is very good, thanks to character differenses and few hidden levels, not to mention secret characters.
Anyway, I´d love to hear some opinions about the game and maybe discuss about workshop stuff and find solution on some problems...

Finished Dark Alliance 2 on "hard" yesterday. I'm going to get Champions of Norrath this week. The workshop was fun in DA2 (though a little on the expensive side). I made lots of nifty magical weapons; may favs were a +3 Imperial long sword of coldfire and a +4 Remarkable Shocking Burst Great Sword (Which set me back over 89,000gp's).

After playing Dark Alliance 1 I had no intention of playing Diablo-type rpgs ever again on a Console. Baldur's Gate on PC is a masterpiece series, and I honestly feel the consoles version is just not up to scratch as it's PC counter parts. I assure you if DA came out for PC, it would NOT sell well. Who is going to play a HUMAN barbarian /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif some of those RACE/CLASS mixes made me laugh.

I REALLY wanna play DA2, played the first one to death.

Does it acually continue the "story"?

We played it on hard too. I used Ysuran, always liked magic. I also played as Adrianna in DA1.
    My favourite weapons:
+5 Flawless resonating scimitar(or what ever)
    16 runestones
16 amethysts (+extra critical hit dmg)
    16 pearls (+improved critical)
(Aside that its extremely deadly weapon, there´s cool purple mist coming out of the blade /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif)
+5 Flawless scimitar of holy flame
    16 rune stones
16 Diamonds(75% disintregate undead on critical hit)
    16 jachints (+fire damage)
Undead killer, as it seems. White fire coming out of the blade.

The game says that max. ranks you can get, excample, for Cleave is 10(when upgrading weapon). But even if I put maximum number of gems I get only 5 ranks, anyone know why is that? I want to create ultimate weapon for extreme level.

You need lots of money on this:
Get flawless ring and put there
    176 runestones
176 jachints ( yeah you need money)

You get +15 strenght by equiping it, but it sure is expensive!

Yeah Horsepool, it directly continues the story from previous game, with different main characters, thought, but DA1 characters are still in the game. Endind scene left a picture there´ll be probably DA3 coming out someday...hope they make it longer, and add more secret levels.

Personally I didnt really care about the story, but I guess it´s good that it is not just about mindless whacking.

I was totally unsatisfied with BG2. BG1 was actually better. I liked the weapon creation, but that was it. It was also too easy.

Champions of Norrath is really a lot better. It is made by the guys that made the original BG. It is better in just about every way, though I am too lazy to go into much detail here. If you liked BG1, skip BG 2 (or rent it) and buy Camps of Norrath. Peace.

There was nowhere near enough character development in BG:DA1 and without that it loses alot of appeal. I don't understand why it got good reviews when it's so blatantly average. DA2 is certainly too easy most of the time. With 2 players it becomes even easier which messes up the multiplayer aspect. It can certainly be fun though if you avoid abusing certain feats and tactics.

If you like these types of games though Diablo 2 is far far better. Champions of Norrath for PS2 is expected to be very good though so look out for that.
