some people use it to cheat. they set stuff like [P]+[K] to a shoulder button so they wont press the buttons together. well, what do YOU guys feel is the most confortable button layout?

Hey, it aint cheating, it's using that controller to the fullest. Joystick players got it easy coz they can move more quickly, so you gotta take advantage of everything you can. Usin the default config and usin the shoulders for your throws, PKs, KGs, and techrolls is just keepin with the game /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

No sense doin things the hard way if they lay it all out in front of you.

I use square for guard, R1 for punch and R2 for kick, this way you can keep one finger at each button.

I usually use the default setting (A). Sometimes, I'll map [P][K][G] to the Shoulder buttons, but it doesn't allow you to access the Pad very well.
I like what was said eariler: [G] is Square [P] to R1 and [K] to R2. I'll have to try that.

I like shoulder buttons. If the option is there. Why not use it?

Anyways. So far I have found the standard Dual Shock PS2 controller to be the best. Second favorite of mine is the PS1 normal controller (without the analog sticks) Its really light and for some reason it stays cooler than other controllers *shruggies*

well, going as far as to say its cheating was wrong on my part, and i tryed a configuration WITHOUT the shoulder buttons and the game became impossible.

Not to mention that the game comes defaulted with the shoulder buttons. How could something be cheating if your using the controll to the fullest. Cheating would be if you press one button to do stuff like the SPod, a button for combos would be cheating. Arcades sticks take advantage of superior controls so why can't a gamepad take advantage of superior buttons and button placement. After all, Imagine what it would be like if arcade players were forced not to used P+G or K+G type two button presses and had to press a button that was 2-3 buttons away. That would be a bit difficult with the standard hand placement. So forcing a Pad player to press two and sometimes 3 buttons on a controller that was not built and shaped to press 3 buttons at a type ergonomically would be a crime.

Ok not a crime but rediculous.

for some people, the pad buttons are way too small to be hitting two at a time... do what you wish, they both have their disadvantages and advantages.
