im gonna get a new joystick. can someone recommend me a site where i can buy one? I got scammed on ebay so i dont wanna get it from der. I currently using the tekken 6 stick, i hate it. it feels stiff. I have the hori ex joystick, the STICK feels smoother, but it brakes so easily.

I want a stick that doesnt feel stiff. I guess im looking for the top of the line stick?? I hear the STREET Fighter is the best one??

Madcatz TE is great. You can purchase a 360 version, take it out of the box, and you get the same parts that are in a VF cabinet right from the get go. They are rising in cost again due to SSFIV though so try to find a deal ($100-$120 for a brand new one).

HORI-RAP series are good as well. The all Seimitsu version has a slightly less loose feel than the Sanwa parts of the SFIV TE sticks. Seimitsu parts are still used in tons of SD cabinets in Japan and they were used for SBO for most games in the past.

Other than a TE and an HRAP-SE you are going to have to mod a stick. You can purchase a SFIV SE stick, then buy the Sanwa JLF and buttons yourself, and swap them in (it's very simple).

The other option is to purchase something like Arcade In A Box (long wait times though worth it, I have a PS3/PS2/360 stick from AiaB that is fantastic). Or you can have someone from SRK's trading outlet make you a stick which can also be expensive.

If you want to buy a stick, get it quickly shipped, then play immediately then get a TE. TE doesn't need to be modded and the parts are the same as in the VF cabinet and they'll last through a lot of play.

    Best.

Find it. Buy it. Get someone to dual-console mod it.

    Best.

the madcatz TE one, does the stick feel loose?
Like my TEKKEN 6 stick is stiff compared to the HOri ex2 one(which i like better). I dont really care for buttons just the stick portion.. as long as its not stiff. Plague the ps3 one look crazy but i duno how to get it mod...

TE is loose than VSHG/HORI EX2, and it's probably your best choice now. I remember the price was $99 and it's reasonable.

I don't think you are able to find VSHG anymore plus it's need to be mod for dual console.

I didn't list the VSHG because it's not available at retail. A new VSHG is going to cost a lot of money compared to a new TE. The SRK trading outlet is cutthroat whenever a VSHG is up for sale. The VSHG is a great stick, maybe the best, but it has to be modded no matter what, and overall the cost is a lot. When you buy a VSHG you are essentially buying a project and not a functional stick out of the box.

MarkMan basically said that the VSHG would have been the best stick ever made for retail if it didn't have the worst PCB. The TE meanwhile works right out of the box. Plug it into your 360, check the button config, then play.

While it's tough to accurately convey how loose a TE is over text on an internet forum, know this: the Sanwa parts in the TE are the exact same parts that are in all VF5R cabinets in Japan. The Linberg cabinets use them, and the 1P panels that are made for standard definition cabinets use them as well.

I can only agree. VSHG all the way. Mod it yourself. It's not that hard -- just a weekend's work.

    Amazon.com?

Prob not the best for this kinda specialist stuff but they're pretty competative.

Yes those are the ones. The Super SFIV stick has the lockswitch lock both the Home/Menu button as well as the START/pause button. The original SFIV TE stick's lockswtich does NOT lock the start button so you risk accidentally bumping the stick and hitting pause with it (this happened quite a few times at EVO2009 for people using regular TE sticks).

just got that stick yesterday. all i have to say is... wow its sensative...I got the sf4 one btw.

When i used the TEKKEN HORI, i would JAM at the stick to do 33 or 11 motions. now i have to just tap it, and be super duper gentle or else it would do something else.. i keep doing 2p instead of 33P or 11 P. I guess i can get used to it.. I duno whether im tapping the stick to hard or too light. Neways, another thing i noticed about the stick is it seems like the stick is shorter than the tekken one, so i prob need to alter my grip.

Neways, i prob just have to adjust...

I also find this the best stick for VF. Even though the SF4 TE stick uses the same parts it doesn't quite feel the same. The VSHG feels more accurate to me. It does have some problems with Namco fighters though (if you happen to play any of them).

Theres not much difference between the TE and VSHG imo, I do prefer the VSHG though. There's something about the weight and feel of the stick that makes me prefer it over other sticks i've used.

The VSHG is forged from the purest vein of Dark Matter in the universe. Its mere existence compels.

Im not happy with my VSHG or TE. TE was slightly modded though and I think something may have gone wrong. My favorite stick is my older modded HRAP 2.

    for table top use:
    1. vshg
    2. te
    3. hrap

    for lap use:
    1. hrap
    2. te
    3. vshg

since i do most of my playing in my room where i don't have a desk and at tournaments where there are rarely any unused surfaces, hrap is boss for me. i would like to get a high grade someday though.

Hey Plague, looks like you have a VSHG, right?
Can I ask you for a big favour?

I need the dimensions for the stick, as I'm planning to make a replica with MDF - VFDC art for sure!

Well, I hope you can help me here ;-)
