Best ps2 titles?

Hey I'm on a recent ps2 kick (I've always loved the system and games)
    I currently own:

    Resident evil 4

    God Of War I&II

    Onimusha 1 and 2

    Metal Gear Solid 1,2,3(amazing series)

Devil May Cry 1 and 3(also amazing)

    Yakuza

Some bizarre MGS clone made by Sega called "Spy Fiction" which is humorous in the extent it copies MGS. There is even a six shootin villain who resembles revolver ocelot. It implements many cool and interesting ideas however, but is hindered by shitty controls and a fairly bland story.

    Soul Calibur 3

What are some other titles I should pick up? (besides Vf4 EVO)

God Hand is the only PS2 game you'll ever need.

EDIT: Also PS2 version of RE4 should be avoided, Gamecube and Wii versions are the only way to go.

Saw that game at the rental shop and wondered if it was worthwhile, I've heard nothing but good things so I think I'll check it out.

    Shinobi.

Socom 1 and 2, (THREE SUCKED).
    Killzone 1.

DBZ Tenkaichi 2 ( dont laugh).

Star Wars Bountyhunter (Jango Fett game)

    Gran Turismo 4.

and Duh PS 2 RE4 has the Ada Wong missions.
what sense does it make to tell him to buy a Wiii when Hes asking about PS2 games??
I personally am on the final chapter of RE4 PS2, and it has been a kickass ride.
(I made a conscious decision to actually finish RE4 before I put money down on RE5).

Duh so does the Wii version... and I didn't suggest he buys a Wii, I suggested he avoided the PS2 port cause it's pants compared to the other versions.

I agree with MP on FFX and Time splitters 1 & 2, especially TS2. One of the best FPS games evah [IMG]

Apart from God Hand and a few mentioned in here already, I can only think of...

    Dragon Quest VIII
    Disgaea 1 & 2
    Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2
    Onimusha 3 - you only mentioned 1 and 2 Ugg, 2 & 3 are the best [IMG]
    Okami
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Grand Theft Auto series (especially Vice City)
    Silent Hill 2
    Burnout 3: Takedown

TS2 is def one of my favoritest FPS's. Just too much fun. And it was a sensible, yet silly game.
I would say GT4 but I never played it. I only played 3 and that game made me love cars and racing.
I liked the SSX series alot too, right up to the 3rd one. Dave Mirra BMX 2 I liked alot. I would say its nearly on par with EA skate because of the mechanics. Of course I would like these games though.
Star Ocean 3 is possibly one of my fave games of all time.

By the time you run through FFX and FFX-2 you'll be well into a month. Might as well throw in FFXII as well.

The Ratchet and Clank series has tons of games for the PS2, also the Metal Gear Solid seres (2: Substance and 3: Subsistence) have hundreds of hours of extra content loaded on them if you run through those again, and there's always the GTAIII games.

Shadow of the Colossus and ICO always get high marks. X-Men Legends I and II and Marvel Ultimate Alliance are good. There's the old Tony Hawk Skateboard games which can suck away hours on end. If you like racing pick up the Gran Turismo series.

Here's a list of every PS2 game that IGN gave an editor's choice award.

Forgot how good the old tony Hawk games were, especially 2 & 3. I remember being stuck in my room playing 3 for months... damn it was addictive [IMG]

I forgot to mention that I own Bully as well. A great game. Ive played all the GTA's as well. I rented the warriors years ago and it was a great adaption of the movie. felt very authentic.

No, sadly none of my friends play videogames. I wish they did.

Thanks for that list Instantoverhead, It'll be very helpful.

Ash_Kaiser Marly you no good jabroni I make you humble... Bronze Supporter

Mos Eisley, Heroes vs Heroes, Ayla Secura, annihilate.

And Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 was the shit. That game rocked.

Also, if you want to just mindlessly smash your way through hordes of enemies, you can't go wrong with Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it.

After playing skate I cant go back to playing tony hawk games, it just ruined them for me. I have good memories of THPS 1 though.
And Slide, I own MGS 3. Its probaly in my top five games of all time.I absolutely love it. Best theme song, best story, just an amazing overall game.
