Bug in the PS3 version, affecting Quest mode

Don't know if anyone is already aware of this, but there is a bug that causes a player to lose vast amounts of cash from their Quest mode file. I do not know what exactly triggers this, only that it has happened to me at least twice, with two different characters.

First I had saved up a healthy 26,000G ready to spend on a whole new look for my Lion, only to realise a little later on that much of my money had disappeared and that I was back down to around 8000G...Today, whilst using my Eileen I won one of the tournaments that awards 15,000G and quickly saved it, after reloading and carrying on with a couple of fights I noticed that the 15,000G had been wiped completely and I was back to my starting sum of 1900G.

This has probably happened many more times but I've been unaware of it, as I have a separate file for every character on the roster (and that many fluctuating cash amounts is impossible to keep track of).

My only advice is to spend any large sum as soon as you acquire it in case it disappears - doesn't help when trying to save up for something more expensive though...

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

I hope you don't take any offense to this, but do you think the problem could be that you're not saving your system file? If you do stuff in Quest, then hit the PS button and Quit Game, everything you did in Quest doesn't get saved. This happened to me a few times, by the way. >.>

Even if you manually go to save and then use the PS button to quit?

I ask because I had a problem with another game where I thought I saved it and then when I reloaded I hadn't.

The same things happened to me several times. It doesn't matter how safe I am about saving, money recently won just disappears. It's definitely some kind of bug.

After you save you should play an extra match and check your money total. It seems if you save then quit, the money doesn't transfer all the time so I have heard.

Had it happen to me too... during a 15k tourney... pissed me off. Also lost an item that way. Only happened when I saved right after I won and turned off the PS3. If I kept playing it stayed there. No need to spend your loot right away. Definite glitch.

Luckily items are much easier to get in VF5 than VF4Evo. I'd have been pissed if that happened to me after I got my glowing bracelet in Evo!! (which has been cheapened in VF5 so much since everyone has it)

yeah dude items are WAYY expensive in this one. I need to pay for a color of pants when before I'd just pay for a whole set of that color.

Use the two controller turbo P trick! Everything for a character in like 15 hours while you sleep/go to work/etc.

What exactly is this two controller turbo P trick? I've heard it mentioned a few times but I can't seem to find out what it actually is.

buy a stick/controller with a turbo button, create a mule character to beat up on, turn dmg up all the way, pick the character you want mad items for, turbo p (or p+k for slower p characters) and go along your day.

come back whenever and watch the amazement.

Also, set VS round count to 1 and energy to 160 (lowest possible).

The funny thing is how long it still takes to buy all the items.

I'm not sure I get it. You can get all the items etc in VS mode? Surely that won't give you ones you only get for completeing quest orders or the items for completing orb discs?

I don't know about you guys, but sometimes I play the game and get rewards. I mean, I'm just throwing that out there.

The point of the "trick" is that in versus mode, when you lose, you still get some money. Do this "trick" overnight and the end result is that you should have a bucketload of money with which you can buy shop items.

And yeah, you'll probably get prize matches along the way as well, where you can win either money, items, orbs, etc.

Personally, I've never done this nor do I endorse it. But each to their own! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
