1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. Ok i just tried to change my controls so that they'd be more like a joystick so i can do Akira's knee and eventually play on a stick. But when i edit them to my own custom settings it doesn't make a difference! it says that they're set that way in the options but when i go to play they're just the default ones, any help would be great.

Do you have VF4 or Evo?

Make sure that when you edit the control schemes that you use the confirmation button, (X or O) and not the cancel/return to menu buttons (Sq or Triangle) in order to exit out of the options menu.

I know why, if you are using a Kumite/Quest character, you are going to have to edit his individual control scheme. When ever you make a new character, they use the control layout that you had in the options when the file was created.

If you make a character, change the control layout in the option menu only, then load the character file, the control layout for the character will not have changed, unless you create a file after you change the options from the option menu, you will have to do it manually (for each character unfortunately). I had this same problem before, the manual does not explain this very much, if at all.

    Problem solved.....right? /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

ok i'm still using just regular VF4 /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif ok how would i change the controls manually or whatever for each of my older characters. I think that might be it cuz i have been loading my characters and they were made when i had the default controls.

That's exactly it. There's a different between overall system control configuration and configs for your characters. Newly created ones will adopt the system config, while for older characters this can be edited in your character edit section... 'edit player'? I can't remember, I don't have my VF4 handy... this is where you edit items.

-Go into edit file, and edit your character that you want to change the controls for.

-There should be several catagories to select, choose the one that is like "configure controls" or "controls," I am pretty sure that it is one up from the bottom.

-From there, the edit screen should be exactly similar to that of the option menu, just change the controls as you see fit, and then exit and save.

-If the problem persists I am sure someone knows what to do, just keep posting info and I can offer more advice, I am pretty sure this should work though.
