    EDIT: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/14/child-of-eden-review/

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">So, here's the thing about Child of Eden: It is quite short. That's a somewhat pedestrian complaint to leverage against a game -- and an extraordinarily pedestrian complaint to leverage in the very first sentence of a review -- but it needs to be said right up front to temper your expectations. You can beat it in a single sitting (or, as the case may be, standing), with the game's five chapters clocking in at a scant 90 minutes. It ends with a swell, and leaves you with a despondent, unanswered wish for more.

It is also one of the most remarkable video games I've ever played. Not only does it represent the most complete realization of what the Kinect has to offer, it possesses the (perhaps childish) distinction of being, for lack of a better term, a "crying game." It will almost certainly conjure tears from its hardest players -- not because it is particularly sad or melancholic, but because it is stirring.</div></div>

Played the first and second levels this afternoon on controller. Very good but the music hasn't sunk in as quick as Rez's did. Besides that it is literally rez 2 in terms of premise and gameplay.

So I read that in order to keep your multiplier going, you have to release the lock on in time with the beat. multiplier goes up a lot, i dont know the number, but maybe 100.

question for those who have it: is it easy to do?

    ill get the game tomorrow

Game came out today in UK,

I played through the game on normal and unlocked hard difficulty and a challenge mode, plus other styles like Rez.

The game is very much like Rez but harder and has a deeper scoring system in that you have to time your lock on release with the beat. I am trying to understand it, but its HARD. it impossible to do well on this game the first time around, so in a sense its a shmup through and through.

The only problem is that its not as immediately memorable as Rez was. but not many games are.

I think if you like on rail shooters, then this is pretty much a must buy. but I said the same about Yar's revenge, and about 3 people on the internet bought that lol.

I bought it today, only had the chance to play through the first level on normal though.

It was exactly like Rez for me, only differences are the First Person Camera and the more calm/naturistic approach to the visuals and sound.

I had a few issues with the motion controls, having to raise both arms seems to randomly jolt the camera upwards most of the time. The same happens when switching between shots, swapping between the left and right hand can cause the camera to veer off to the sides [IMG]

The game looks fun though and i'm sure i'll enjoy it just as much as Rez once I get the chance to play it a little more, think i'm going to switch to the pad for future plays though ...i've read the controls are smoother than they are when playing with Kinect.
