Colorado signed both Kariya and â€ÂThe Finnish Flashâ€Â!

The Colorado Avalanche signed both Paul Kariya and his former Duck companion Teemu Selanne who came from San Jose on the free agent list.
This means that the two first lines will be mixed up from players like Forsberg, Sakic, Kariya, Selanne and Hejduk in one offensive package.

They lost Roy on a retirement but they will none there less have a freaking team next year.
    Should be fun!

I just wish Jagr would go back to Pittsburgh. /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Yeah, that's crazy the free agent signings already. Looks like Colorado is in it's reloaded stage. With Forsberg coming back and the core teams getting older, the 1 year deals with these two players are for the following season to win it all. They flamed out this past year in the playoffs and it won't get any easier with Roy retired. But I am sure they will have a good chance.

In other news... Detroit signs Darien Hatcher to a five year deal and Fedorov says he will not sign with Detroit again. Interesting.

It will be interesting to see if they can drag all these “superstars†to work in the same direction, so that they hopefully don’t have to rely on one of them doing the job from a game to game basis.

And it will also be interesting to see if Kariya and Selanne still have the play that they produced in Anaheim.

It will be hard for Dallas to replace Darien Hatcher, as he in my opinion is one of the 3 best defensemen in the whole league, but a great catch for Detroit though.
Btw does Kevin Hatcher still play?

I wonder were Fedorov ends up in the end?

Selanne still has the wheels. I know Paul Kariya will come to play. First off, it's a one year deal and second, he was one game away from the stanley cup. I believe Kevin Hatcher still plays. But not sure where. I think an eastern conference team.

I am not sure where Fedorov wants to go. But he sure doesn't want to go to a losing team. So let's see who still has cash. There is always new york but that place is a mess when it comes to most of their sports. Except the Yankees. I doubt he wants to play the neutral zone trap. So he might skip New Jersey. Maybe if Ottawa has money. They are a high flying scoring type team. Something Fedorov likes.

It was pretty amazing that Anaheim went all the way to the finals this year, and when they also had a great fight in the end against the Devils, I was impressed!
But I guess that this was the one and only chance for them to actually win the Playoffs in a very long time, and when they in the end also lost Kariya I would dare to say that things looks rough for them to pull of something like that again.

But like you said Kariya will do everything to take the cup next year, and it would be nice to see Teemu also winning the Stanley Cup since I don’t think he have ever won it.

I couldn’t find any information on Kevin Hatcher; he is getting old these days so maybe he has retired from the sport?

Yeah, Mighty Ducks year was this year and that was it. They got hot in the playoffs and rode it till the final game. Adam Oates is 40 and probably going to retire. Steve Rucchin is retiring soon. I am sure the ducks will be playing a lot of rookies and farm players next season. But you never know. They may turn out to become the next Buffalo Sabres type team where they had Dominik Hasek anchoring them and they rarely scored. But still won games by one goal due to the strength of thier goaltender.
