Combo's

Well, i just recently started playing Kage and im finding myself using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif a lot, and it feels sorta lame.

Would want some tips on launchers (for match start) and other combo's.

 

combos are in the kage wiki, access from left hand panel

 

Well, was hoping that some one could at least post some of the better ones rather then give a half arsed reply

 

uhm, those are the best ones.

as for launchers to begin the match, that´s not usually how a round starts.

 

dude, im just helping you out here, the wiki is awash with kage strategies and combos.

 

You generally aren't able to launch someone at the beginning of the round. It's not impossible but it's pretty rare.

As far as combos, the one's listed in the wiki are the "best" combos so why should someone bother cut and pasting them into your post when you can just go look at them and it's even easier???

You shouldn't even start asking questions until you've read all the stuff on the wiki... People put that together for a reason, if you're too lazy to look at it you're just hurting yourself, no one is doing it too you.

Edit: Been having some problems with the Gen'you otoshi move, any tips?

anyways Kages wiki is awesome. The strat page is really elaborate and the combos on the combo page are his best combos. to get some visual aid on how to play him watch videos by players like Koedo, Jin, Senningiri (search for their names on youtube)

edit, round openers are usually fast mids. But it really depends on what your opponent does. You don´t have to attack right at the beginning either.

edit 2, for the move you asked about, you need to do the second command the exact moment your attack hits the opponent.

Just the kick, even though i press /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif when the kick hits /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

 

Kage has /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif as round opener which is pretty nice as it ducks under high moves and you get a combo..

 

I find that it helps to be closer to the opponent. If only kage's foot touches the other fighter, I'm unable to do the move. I don't know whether that's just me or not, so give it a shot.

 

a lot of people start with lows though /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

 

Generally stick with quick moves at the start of the match. Also, you don't want to do the same thing every time.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is good against /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif strings as round starters.
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is good against most low, you can even do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif sometimes

Or you could just defend and immediately put yourself at an advantage when successful.

 

Depending what your seeing from your opponent openings these are different options I like without getting to deep into them.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or DM counter

or if facing begginer players
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif then move away from the recovery attack

But me compared to some of these guys your better listening to them /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
Also another good way to learn is to watch vids on this site or "youtube" to see different openings.

 

What is a good combo to do after jumonji /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif reversal? I didn't see it anywhere in the combo section.

 

Hold /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif (to get out of stance) > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (slight delay) > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif for most characters, i think it works up to Akira if I recall correctly. If not, take out /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. Against lightweights, you can use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif

With Wolf it only works in Open stance. For closed stance do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif

Otherwise, do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif as a finisher if you have trouble with the aforementioned combos.

 

DPoD or go home! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

 

DPoD doesn't work after P+K sabaki.
