It's the move where he sit down by your head, locks your arm between his legs, and then wrenches back on your neck with his hands.

I think the best setup for those is when your opponents bounces off the wall after an air combo. Don't use it too much though, they will pick up on your tactic and start escaping those ground throws. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

The Crippler Cross Face (Arm Scissors - Cross Face - Neck Wrench)is a submission move made famous by WWE Wrestler Chris Benoit (Known as: The Canadian Crippler and The Rabid Wolverine) and Puroresu Wrestler Kaz "Shiryu" Hayashi.

Description : Opponent is face down on the mat. Attacker stands to side, and leg scissors opponent's near arm. Attacker sits next to opponent then applies a cross face hold, and pulls back on opponent's head.

Here is a front pic of it applied:

*The old name for this is a "Cross Face Chicken Wing", but it has been slightly modified by Benoit and subsequently was named after him.

ohhh, that sounds like a wolf evo ground throw. Most of them involve the leg or stomping on your test0rs.
Wolf's low side throw also has him straddle your arm, lay on his back, and tug your arm into an unnatural position while you lay on the ground.

That sounds like an "Arm Bar Submission". Kinda weird adding a lot of submission moves into a game where your opponent can't submit, but I'm sure it looks cool and thats what counts. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Been playing a lot of Pride FC lately so I can do lots of cool moves, but too bad the game isn't very good. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Wolf's low side throw is indeed a cross arm breaker. A basic ju-jitsu/judo submission where you hyper extend an opponents arm. Professional wrestlers also imploy this move, but unlike MMA/NHB events; the wrestlers are obviously selling the move since wrestling is fake (I hope Wolf didn't hear that /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif), and no pressure is really being applied.

Speaking of Wolf's low side throw; it is possible to land it on the cpu Akira following certain throws/low throws w/Wolf? You can also use it on another Wolf and Jeffry; but only if you set it up with the pendulum lariat, then press guard to immediately turn around. Wolf/Jeff (Wolf slide kicks more than Jeff does I think) will do a low rising slide kick; evade it, and then press d, p+k+g. I believe JustaNewbie posted all of the throws that you can set it up with versus Akira. From what I can remember, they are:

    SSD/Jackhammer
    body slam
    pendulum lariat
    side suplex (low thow)
    double arm suplex (low throw)

Akira will do a low rising slide kick if he's either lying face up with head towards, or face down with feet towards; that is why all of the above throws will work for setting the low side throw up. Wolf/Jeff will only do it when they are face down, feet towards; hence only the pendulum lariat can set the low side throw up vs. those 2.

You can also land a low side throw using Jeffry vs. Akira. You must set it up with either a f,p+g (power slam), or a b,df p+g (tackle). Obviously, if you use the tackle you have to press guard immediately to turn around; wait for Akira to slide, then evade and go for the low side throw. To my knowledge, these are Jeff's only 2 throws that position Akira so that he's lying face up with head towards you. If you're fast enough, these work!

Of course these tactics are best used for having fun with the cpu, BUT you CAN land them on an unsuspecting human opponent a couple of times before they catch on /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Oh, and one more thing. Can anyone who has played Wolf in Evo describe to me what Wolf's brainbuster looks like (the move that replaced the SSD; df,df, p+g). I'm pretty sure I know what a brainbuster looks like. Just wondering how cool it looks in Evo, that's all.

It looks pretty darn similar. Wolf now does a little hop or stomp after the opponent is fully lifted, then the opponent is brought down sideways and slammed to the floor... just like VF4C's but maybe the animation is a little quicker.

Oops, I meant to say face down with head towards.

    CreeD,

so in other words, the brainbuster (df,df p+g) and the jackhammer (df,df, p+g, p+g) look pretty much the same??

The brainbuster is basically a regular supplex and the jackhammer is a normal supplex converted into a powerslam.

Yes, in japanese terminology that's correct. A brainbuster is what the US identifies as a vertical suplex. But in the US, a brainbuster starts off like a suplex, but the opponent is dropped on their head instead of their back. In Japan, whether their dropped on their head or back it's still called a brainbuster. So, I can't imagine that the SSD was replaced with Wolf's classic brainbuster animation (his old b,p+g from version C).

Thats basically it though, he does a slight hop as the opp. goes vertical, holds them there for a sec and drops the on their neck. Very similar to old b+P+G.

is there any movies of Wolf's new throws? like the double german, the crossface and the Rock Bottom??

in the move list i noticed a move called Smackdown Bottom ([4][3]+[P]+[G].. i guess that's Vf's take on the Rock Bottom

i'm curious to see what it looks like

damn these Montreal arcades that don't have EVo yet

The move looks exactly like the Rock's rock bottom. Also if you hunt around for recent chariot clips with Wolf players, you are bound to see almost all of those ground throws being used. The double german was in a recent clip. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

    sup..

there are movies of all the throws buried somewhere in here. You'll have to hunt me down on IRC to get them though.

If you can find it, "100evo_0002" has a beautiful match between chibita and a wolf player, and the wolf lands a bb+PG catch into the double german suplex. If it's still available (doubtful?) it's from one of the links on this page: http://am.sega.jp/utop/index.html

Man...What are you talking about ? You living under a rock ? Its been months ! We've had Evo in Montreal since it came out in north america. Anyway, J&M Amusement have it downtown guy-concordia metro on st-catherine right next to sex cite. They messed the machine some cuz they moved Guilty Gear XX into the naomi board on the giant screen, so they put evo on a smaller setup.
