moves that do at least 21 damage or more can crush a rising attack if timed right. im practicing different moves right now but my best options for lei is 8K+G, 66K+G, and K(ura koko shiki)

-Fist stance spaces the distance between Lei and downed opponent.
-2nd stance change steps back just out of range. Lei's front leg is raised in the "crane stance" and will just avoid the rising attack.

I do variations of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. Recently I've been having success crushing the low rising attacks with his KoKo Shiki /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif sabaki after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. I switch between that and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif

Personal favorite is the 66K+G, mostly because it's very easy to time and gives you a nice mixup situation afterwards.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif From Doko is pretty good. Staggers and works well against low or mid rising attacks!! You just gotta be a little preemptive with it. I've just now started practicing it in dojo and dusting it off a little in actual comp. Must be frustrating to play against....."well, he destroyed my last time when i did mid, this time i'll do low and BLAM what thats the same ##@#$ move"

Do the rising attack punishers work the same on akira and his stupid rising double palm /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

nehan shiki 2K(low sweep) is good against mid and low rising attacks. i did 2k from koko shiki on a mid rising but it seems risky

Is the rising double palm an actual rising attack, or just them doing the palm after getting up? I'm not too familiar with his stuff.

just akira doing double palm when gettting up.there is a small window at the later part of the techroll ur opponent is crouching thats one reason why doublie palm comes out quick since u only need to input 46 Pl

    Its not the same.

Akira needs to do a TR (tech roll)
    This is considered:
    - side dodge
    - crouching, this is why /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, makes the execution so easy/fast. Other characters with a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif... based move also benefit from this property, so need to be wary of it too. IE: Kage's Knee, Lei/Lion/Shun/Jeff/etc /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. Obviously some are more useful than others.

A circular attack at the right time is needed to beat the TR+DoublePalm which is a very fast move. 10-13 frames or something like that.

Lei's Doku, Haishiki and Bokutai stances both have ALL the options to deal with "crushing attacks"

    haishiki: 2pkg
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif: vs low/mid, slow kick that easily defeats Mid/Low, floats for combo

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif: vs Low/Mid: special low that'll hop a low and beat a mid

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif : vs Low/Mid: it hops over low attacks and can beat a mid if charged a little.

    Doku: 8pkg
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif: vs both: works better against low for timing reason. Window is much smaller vs mid and harder to time.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif: vs Mid: ducks under the rising attack, stagger combo chance for 35%

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif : vs both: beats both via dmg

    Bokutai:

vs Mid: The stance itself is good enough to duck a mid RA

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif : vs Mid/Low, outright beats the attack, easy to time, similar to Shun's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif : vs Low/Mid: will reliably hop a Low and beat a mid.

That's what I thought the rising palm was. So obviously the crush rules wouldn't apply, just seemed like a strange question is all. I guess best option would be to try and bait it and punish, isn't it around -14 or so?

well, shows what i know, i thought it was a rising attack. thats why I asked /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
That darn thing is deadly, doesn't seem to be dodgable (i know it is, but its tricky to say the least).
I play some 5th and 6th dan akira's that that seems to be the only move they touch me with, and its still a close fight.
o'well, more practice is required, lol, and i thought i had mastered the game, hehe.

You can also just block and punish if they keep doing it. Don't have to beat it out.

Blocking does not give advantage (at all?) Techniques against rising attacks are advantageous.

Sorta off topic but do sarah and jacky still do their special rising kick from VF 4 when they are face up & face towards?

from suirakan stance(laydown) P+K will hit both mid and low rising K. then combo 2P 33PP+K+G(ura nehan shiki) KK damage somewhere around 65 to 70 damage i think on ps3

What are you talking about? Guarding any opponent's rising attack gives you advantage. If you have any doubt, just check the vfdc command lists.

There's nothing magical in regards to beating an Akira (or anyone for that matter) who likes to double palm (or do any fast attack) after a tech roll. All you need to know is that he recovers in a crouch position, but you have a shit load of advantage.

If you're getting hit by Akira while trying to pressure him after the knockdown, then you're not using your advantage properly.

Time your attack to hit as he recovers from the roll and you'll counter hit him every time. Any attack works.

What Myke said, plus I was referring to what the other poster had said about playing against Akiras that like to tech roll and then double palm.

"I'm talkin bout that PS Triple" hahaha youre all confuzamified

wait honestly i have no idea what you guys are talking about anymore. All I know is after guarding a rising kick i've seen many ensuing /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif counters by the kicker. That is all.

And as far as akira's tech roll > (from crouch) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif goes ive just been dodging those

    I apologize being misleading guys
