Tom Brady wants to hold a DOA version of EVO including all of the best versions of DOA Fighters and Virtua Fighter:

    Location: Richmond, Virginia
    Venue: Inns of Virginia
    Date: November 3rd, 2007
    Time: TBA
    Entry Fee: $20
    Venue Fee: $10
    Prize payout (Guaranteed)
    $1,000 1st Place: Dead or Alive 2
    $1,000 1st Place: Dead or Alive 3
    $1,000 1st Place: Dead or Alive 4
    $1,000 1st Place: Virtua Fighter 5
2nd Place: 65% of the player entry fee
3rd Place: 35% of the player entry fee

Dead or Alive 2: Limited Edition - Dreamcast
Dead or Alive 3: Pal aka 3.2 - Xbox
Dead or Alive 4: Latest Patch - Xbox 360
Virtua Fighter 5: Either Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 unconfirmed.

He is going to put up his own money for 1st place for each game ($1,000 dollars 1st place for each game) and the rest of the pot will go to 2nd and 3rd place.

If the capcom community can play all of their latest and best versions of their games so can we and that is what this idea came from. This will also be great because those who like specific versions of DOA can still play those games instead of being cast out into the shadows because they dislike a specific DOA game or just don't want to have to adjust to a new game.

    Rules for each game:

Dead or Alive 2: Limited Edition - Dreamcast
    Default Life & Time
    3 Rounds
    Arcade Controls

Dead or Alive 3: Pal aka 3.2 - Xbox
    Default Life
    60 Seconds
    3 Rounds

Dead or Alive 4: Latest Patch - Xbox 360
    Default Life & Time
    3 Rounds
    Danger Zone On

    Virtua Fighter 5: Xbox 360/Playstation 3
    Default Life & Time
    3 Rounds

Look for more info like Location, Venue Fee, Entry Fee, Date etc soon.....

*sidenote converters will be available for PS2 controllers and if you don't have DOA2 LE you can practice on DOA2Hardcore because its the same game*

$1,000...nice! I hope the VF community supports this tournament. If I am in the U.S. at the time of the tournament I would definitely attend.

Curious. Why would you run the DOA2 tourney on the rarer DC version (not even US, right?) rather than the common PS2 version if they are the same? Actually, doesn't the DC version have frame-skippage? (Especially when you hit into Danger Zones)

Is PAL DOA3 really any different gameplay-wise?

It's like 2 completely different games.

I hear stuff like that often but no one's ever told me just what is different gameplay-wise.

I really wonder because DOA4 doesn't look to differ that much from even DOA2:Ultimate in terms of gameplay. (I haven't played DOA4 yet, but it is the first game I will buy when I get my 360)

By the way, random idea to the tourney overseers: Consider running a DOA++ tourney via MAME. Just get some of those USB convertors for PS2 controllers (that also work on the PS3) and we're good to go. (actually, I'll have some) Even if there isn't another $1000 to be spared, you can just do the usual 70/20/10 split for prize.
