IMO VF>DOA>Tekken.
i don't care about tekken (hate the lightning effects, animals and the whole system is not my cup o' tea) but DOA is a nice game for some casual fun games with friends.
i still got my saturn LE from the STV original. ^_^
hope it's only a rumor @ PS3 exclusiv...

btw: what happened 2 itagaki & the original team ninja...
the DOA creator is no more by tecmo and i heared he is planing with some team ninja followers and the VF5 character designer a whole new 3D bemu.
man i hope this is no rumor!

DOA4 wasn't so great, but DOA2 is one of my favorite 3D fighters. I'm hoping that without Itagaki around to muck things up DOA5 will put the series back on the right track. As for the exclusivity, nobody ever said it was a PS3 exclusive. The original rumor was that the game would be multiplatform. The specific wording was that the game would "also be appearing on the PS3".

I've always liked DOA as a giggle enducing drinking game when my non-fighter-fan friends are over.

I'll tell you what DOA needs, a throw escape system for input throws, rid of that stun shit and a better sidestepping mechanic.

In other words, get rid of everything that makes DOA different from Tekken and VF. Guess what I actually agree. WTH is the point of having a 3D fighter when you can't sidestep any attack? Many people don't seem to realize how surprisingly different the DOA game mechanic is from VF, perhaps more so than Tekken.

I could never get into this game. I tried out the first one, and never bothered with the series again.

Somebody willing to explain how the game works now? What's good? Bad? etc.?

You can only escape neutral throws, any input throws are completely unescapable.

Bah, I've been beaten to the "Tekken 6 sales" reference.

Anyway, if this thread makes it to 5 pages, that's when it'll devolve to sales of other games and dicking around.

On topic though: Do you think it will include a customisation option? Or will it go the route of SC and have a character creation thing?

Personally, I hope the just give the guys more costumes and not make them incredibly gay.

If you had the pleasure to witness any of Ein's alt costumes in DOA4 you know what I'm talking about.
