Dealing with mid get up kicks

What do you guys like to do when you know the opponent will try to rise with a mid get up kick? Lion has many ways of getting the opponent to the ground and has many ways of punishing tech rollers so it seems like such a waste when I get countered with a delayed get up kick.

I don't see why you couldn't use Lion's kick sabaki (214P) against half circular rising kicks. This depends on you knowing which attacks will leave your opponent in the right position on the ground, so when they attempt a mid rising kick, you know it will be a half circular and not a crescent...

I don't know these knockdowns yet but I'm trying to learn. At least which throws will cause the requisite knockdown.

    crushes both forms of RA

can duck the RA-mid and crumple.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif seems hard to time to jump the low rising sweeps online. If you don't time it really well and pretty late (I've noticed you have to throw it later than you feel comfortable with) then you seem to get hit on your feet before (or after) you get into the air. I have had a lot of success with it crushing low risers but it's risky to try if you're going to lose the round if you miss. I've definitely lost rounds and matches going for the win with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif vs a sweep and getting hit.

The other thing with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is that the timing for crushing mid vs low riser is different. In my experience, if you are timing it to jump the sweep the mid riser will hit you and if you are timing it to crush the mid riser the sweep will catch you instead. So just throwing /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif won't automatically beat both types of risers, you have to be looking for a certain one and react accordingly, if you guess wrong, you get hit.

If you do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif early to jump the sweep, the mid will knock you out of the air... If you wait longer and attempt crushing the mid and they sweep instead, you will be too late to hit the sweep...

However, I didn't know /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif ducked mid risers! This is awesome because my combo off /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is cruel and unusual... I landed a fully charged /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif on major counter at the beginning of a round one time and followed with my combo. By the time they hit the ground, only 3 or 4 seconds had run off the clock and they already had under 50% of their life left... It felt GOOD! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif can work as a round opener too because it does duck so low that it's fairly evasive. Hitting this in the beginning of a round with your combo is a great way to start out. Basically you really hurt your opponent before they even land their first attack. It's risky because it's slow but it works from time to time and the pay-off is worth it. Sometimes charging it all the way will let them finish whiffing their attack just in time for you to smash them with your biggest attack...
