You just can't let go? You know I've played loads of fighting games maybe not to the same level of VF. I'm even enjoying learning and playing Tekken.. it's a good game. But there is a small part of me every time I pick up a fighting game and it's just not VF..

I HATE YOU SEGA I REALLY DO... (FOR NOW)

I could be playing other fighting games in peace. Totally ignorant about Virtua Fighter.. Totally oblivious like most other people who play fighters...

These are dark times VF friends.. Dark Times...
Sure you'll enjoy Tekken/SF4/Blaz Blue/Lolicon Fighter 3 but you'll come to the same conclusion I did..

    It's just not VF

    That is ALL

Not for me. I honestly think VF5 has changed my out look on games. I've enjoyed it and am still enjoying it. It's all about the learning and there is somuch to learn in VF. Other games are welcome distractions, but VF is where its at and thats a situation i'm happy with [IMG]

I do regret not playing VF4:EVO when that was about. I feel like i missed out in a big way in that regard.

Oh and I hate sega(post merger) too.

I can say that about a lot of Sega franchises. Franchises that Sega doesn't really care about anymore that in their time were full of win.

Sure, I'll enjoy other sidescrollers, but they're just not Streets of Rage.
Sure, I'll enjoy other traditional RPGs, but they're just not Phantasy Star.
Sure, I'll enjoy other racers, but they're just not Daytona.
Sure, I'll enjoy other platformers, but they're just not Soni... no wait, scratch that last one.

Bottom line, the Sega of today sucks.

Even though they are making a new Daytona, but we probably won't see it.[/size]

Is there still room on the fence and any popcorn left?

Shit I grew up with Nintendo, none of these games mattered to me. But Sega are still dicks for not releasing 5R.

Times are not so dark. You can actually play VF at home with human competition. True, there are not as many people playing, but it is mostly the casual people who have left. It is not that much fun crushing people who do not know the game at all.

That said, it really does suck that VF5R is out there and looks so awesome. It really wouldn't be that expensive to port it. All the game design and everything is done.

The replays with frame data would be really helpful to have. I think that it could actually get me to understand the characters I don't play (like half the cast).

It's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.

Screw SEGA but no, VF was a great learning tool so I'm happy I got into it even if I was hella late.

No I'm glad I could experience one of the greatest fighting games of all time. Me honestly I've made peace with the fact we may or may not be getting R, honestly Vanilla 5 is good enough to be played for a very long time. I picked up Shun again and started playing through Quest to customize and learn some of his moves again and it feels like a whole new experience from playing Jeff.

I don't see the rush for getting a R port as soon as possible... god knows they'll have another revision out soon making the port inferior once more. The longer the wait the more crap we'll get is how I see it. If they'd ported Version A over we'd be upset that Version B is out with it's new animations and such so yeah...

Nope, It's taken me to a lot of places where I had the opportunity to meet and play some great people.

I doubt I would have dedicated as much time and effort to any other game.

No,I still have loads of other characters to learn, I could easily go without another VF game for quite a while. Yes I`d love to play a new VF game. For me there`s still a lot to learn and have fun with. Never regret this game, its my fave. Plenty more shelf life for me.

Every time I pick up a new character to learn it only reminds me of why the game is so good. The knowledge you get from playing other opponents gives me my idea`s for nitaku situations, okizeme and punishments and so forth.

I like this thread, it's really like talking about an ex GF,

Was I really hapy back then? what has changed? why doesen't she love me/don't I love her as much?

I suppose it's all a matter of the glass being half full or half empty,

Personally I dont regret spending 2 years of my life obsessing about this game, but now I just want to get over it. Sometimes I feel like selling the disc or "do a Rodnutz".

Do a Rodnutz could become "to Rodnutzire", the process of "Rodnutzation", in other words, completely destroying something you have put years of your life into.

That's true, how the heck did namco manage to release a game with worse graphics two years later? o_O

I tried to play VF... no one was on. I thought of Tekken, looked at my new fancy Hori Wireless... and then remembered the actual game, flying characters and eye lasers and all, and the fact that I need to print out a movelist to even learn my char's set... and it just seemed to tedious so I played Fallout (The Pitt!) , then, thank god, two friends wanted to play Borderlands at different times.

I will give Tekken another shot and maybe it will make more sense to me, but honestly, taking R out of the equation, can anyone argue that T6 is the better game?
