Does someone like KOF?

 

I'm a big KOF fan. I have all of the KOF games on Dreamcast. I've been playing it on MAME for over two years. That's how I discovered KOF. Through emulation. I used to be the best on Kaillera throughout most of 2001. Then it became crappy with so many people insisting on using Kawaks and stuff. Using whatever emulator you want offline is cool, but online, MAME is best. One emulator, everybody can play with everybody else. You can't play cross emulator.

Well, my favorite characters are Terry Bogard, Joe Higashi, Mai Shiranui, Lucky Glauber, Kasumi Todo, and Blue Mary. My favorite KOF is KOF99, then KOF98, then KOF2000. I'll even be getting the KOF2000/2001 combo PS2 versions. I'm also hoping to get the Neo Geo Pocket Color rereleases for my birthday at the end of the month. I didn't know what KOF or SNK were until I got into emulation back in 2001, and now I regret not picking up the cool little handheld back in 1999.

I also had all Dreamcast version.(the 1999 dream match is best)
I stil like the old SNK.
I also got sature version of 97
looking for 96 and 95
I can buy neogeo CD with 94 and 95 now, but I want find 96 and 95 for sature first.

Do you like 2002?
I bought last month.
gameplay is much better than 2001, stupit strickers.
but the backgroud, are still crap.

I have neogeo pocket color with (R-1,R-2)
R-1=97
R-2=98

Joe Higashi ownz your face!! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gifj\k It's all good. Huge KOF fan. Fav is true 99 (aka KOF 98). Joe of course is muay thai champion (him and Adon via SFA3). also Blue Mary (she's the hottest), Kyo (better than Terry), and Vanessa (the second hottest, and a boxer). The most fun 2d fighters ever, and SNK is still not as popular as Capcom /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

In Kof 2002, I play random! nothing beats random select! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My best characters should be Yamazaki, Shermie, Chris, Ryo and Takuma

KoF rules, I used to hate the game cos I didn't know how to do super, lol. But once I got a chance to properly play it I enjoyed it and played all the new and past games. Fave one is prolly 98.

Yeah man, love the SNK stuff. Been playing KoF since the '94 version. To this day I Still have my Neo Geo CD hooked up because the KoF series and the occasional Samurai Spirits 2 session.

Fav character is definitely Iori, hands down he rules. (Genjuro Kibagami in SS).

Good to see that support for quality classics never dies, despite the glory which is 4 Evo.

KOF is cool, I like Iori and Rugal the most out of all the chars. Rugal has that badass win quote, something like "Repeat after me... I will never fight a god again." That's just hardcore.

SNK games were the best 2D fighters, that's true. Other than KOF, I loved Samurai Showdown. That game was damn good.

I have KOF2002 on Dreamcast, and I like it. I would be playing it so much more if Playmore didn't set the music volume so annoyingly low. No way to change it, either. The sad part is that the Neo Geo MVS and AES versions had it right. Why they changed it for the Dreamcast I'll never know. At least 99 and 2000 have audible music and awesome music!

If (when /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif) I get the NGPC, I'll be getting KOFR2. I'll probably never get R1, though. Not that it's a bad game, but It was a black and white Japan only release. I'd rather stick with American releases.

And then there's SNK Vs. Capcom: Match of the Millenium. I can hardly wait to play that!

I also noticed you said you like Dream Match 1999 (KOF98 in disguise). I have it, and I like it, too. Bummer the music stops when the system has to load a new character. I play it almost exclusively in single character mode because of that flaw. At least every KOF since then got it right.

 

well I knew about that, but I didn't try them because I don't have the DC version.

I played it on the neo mostly.

Anybody also played Gekka no Kenshi/Last Blade?

Why don't you like R-1, That is great game, just black & white, gameplay as good as R-1.

I've played Last Blade 2 on a Neo Geo emulator. Actually, I've played both LB1 and LB2, but LB2 is a much better game. They're good games. I didn't put much time into them to get particularly good, though.

Samurai Shodown 2 is one of the games that comes in this set. (There's also an extra set.) Unfortunately, Gals Fighters isn't in either of them. If I ever see it, I'll buy it (I love Mai!), but I'm not going to go out of my way to get it.

A game that I will go out of my way to get, however, is Metal Slug 2nd Mission. That's also not included in either of the sets, and I have to have it!

Yeah, I've read all of the praise about it, about how it's better than Capcom's Capcom Vs. SNK 1. I've never played Capcom Vs. SNK 2, though.

Well, I'm sure KOFR1 is a good game. I've played it on a NGPC emulator. But it just doesn't seem worth the hassle tracking it down and importing it when the USA KOFR2 is even better.

Yeah I'm a big fan of the KOF series. Iori is main guy. I'm getting used to using Angel however. She's very awkward.
