dt+P,P in combos

Can anyone clarify the rule for using dt+p,p in combos, please? I see it being used in combos, but when I try to add it in, ad-hoc style (since I'm terrible at watching stance) it always comes out as a ground attack. Is it a height thing? I don't need to G-cancel or anything mental like that, do I?

 

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif+,P,P often folows a standing P in combos. Standing Ps are often done by holding /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif in combos and it's safer to G cancel if you want to combo into something else than the canned string.

So in this case, the trick for a combo like /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif would be to input it this way:

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+P, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif P (g cancel), then quickly rolling your stick from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif may help you not geting the light pounce
I guess that may be the rolling part you're missing.

He just told me he's back tomorrow! I'm due for a Bath visit in the next week or two, maybe I can persuade PSM3 to cover our match in some way (and thus get their screen).

 

I've always thought of it as having DF buffered prior to hitting P,P.

That is, hold the DF direction before and while you press P,P.

You get the ground attack when you tap df+P.

French Akira's tip is a commonly used method, though I am sure I've actually had the stick hit neutral prior to doing df+P, P at times.

 

i also have a question concerning df+p,p.

i love the new bounce feature.
but i haven't seen any matches with lion bouncing the opponent yet.
now i'm wondering: does lion have any bouncers?
maybe df+p,p? (i haven't seen combos using df+p,p)

 

Don't know about REbounce but side crumple into 46+K+G makes the opponent bounce. See combos :

You can set up those combos after Lion catch throw which moves him to the opponent side.
