When evading, do you guys usually do a ETE, ETEG, or an evade attack? I usually try to do an ETE, but half the time the escape doesn't seem to escape. I guess I'm not entering it at the right time. I'm pretty new to the game, so just wondering what some of the more dvanced players do. thanks.

If ure gonna risk it for the ETE u might as well guard at the end, it makes it easier so u don't get the throw whiff animation, in conclusion EDTEG

i try to edteg, but if i am pretty sure there will be a striking attack i will usually only throw in one throw escape. I try not to evade without a throw escape, but i suppose it is bound to happen. The timing is tricky, start off practicing just escaping one direction and wait until that feels natural before trying for mroe

I think the problem with your eteg not working is one of these two possibilities.
    1) You're not evading at the right time.
    2) Your throw escape commands are inaccurate or you did not input the escape of the opponent's throws.

You should go into free training, and first learn the timing of evading correctly. Once you get the timing down, start working throw escaping in there. I believe the majority of people who can't eteg correctly are inputting the command too early, in other words, they are not evading correctly.

why do you say "risk it"? what would be a better option? what do you normally do in that situation?

Try training --> tutorial --> evading throw escape guard, and you'll see...
