EU/UK online tournament

I have been speaking with someone I went to WCG with and he is trying to help promote the vf scene with an online tournament and if that goes well, an offline tournament with prizes and shizzle. If you are definitely up for playing in this online one can you please post your name. Having anyone in EU would be cool but I'm not sure if that would lag too bad for some connections, so please post your thoughts on that too.

there's no way i could setup a time for my match.

connection in my house is way too random, ive almost given up playing online.

 

It will be very difficult for me, I'm working nightshift 4 days a week which makes those days completely impossible for me.

I'm off Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday.

So Wednesday/Thursday night would be the only time I'm truly able to say I'd be able to play.

But I want to support the scene regardless.

I'm interested in playing an online tournament. I played a few doa2u tournaments back in the day and we usually played a best of 5 instead of best of 3 to take a the "randomness" of online play into account. although it wouldn't fix all problems, most people agreed that the results where more honest because everyone had a little extra space to fight back if a small lag-error was made.

 

I agree on best of 5 matches. Im interested in playing in an online tournament, although there may be days when I cant play.

First to 5 rounds is a terrible, terrible idea. Make it best of 3 matches instead.

I was replying to this, which sounds more like he's talking rounds then matches to me.

 

I think best of five means win three out of five. First to five means win five out of nine (as seen at WCG).

You are correct and confused at the same time, then. Best of three = first to get two wins.

 

Best of 3 = 2 Rounds wins match

Best of 5 = 3 rounds wins match
Best of 7 = 4 rounds wins match

lol, i'm sorry for the conclusion, i'm talking about games, not rounds. the default match settings in vf are great, wouldn't change them for the world. I was just discussing making it best of 5 games to give some more lag adapting time. tbh, if you win a best of three lagless, you should just as well win the best of 5 (in theory, lol) so adding the extra game to compensate for lag issues is something most doa2u tourney players all agreed in that it worked better.
