Europe: high level regular sparring session

Are there people interested in high level regular sparring session?

Goal is to improve VF skills in Europe.

It depends on individual schedule, but for me the following scheme (I play VF5Revo) would be ok
3 to 4 sessions during the each week for 30-60m each.. so maybe one FT10 each day?
Mostly serious matches hardening good patterns during the matches.

Any volunteers? Let me know what you think.

 

I thought theres already a lot of rooms happening on a semi-regular basis.
Theres Akais leagues on weekends, SaltyEU tourneys on fridays, UK folks play on thursdays, and a whole lot of rooms being played spontaneously via discord. On our Finnish discord we have a bot that pings interested people if someone is looking for a match.

I mean, Im not opposed to regular training sessions, but how is this different from what is already going on? I think it would be best if you just suggested one particular weekday for training rooms, so people could make room in their schedules for it. (ps. mondays and fridays are bad for me)

pps. I personally like to play against as many different opponents as possible, so I dont develop habits based on one particular opponent. Keep my mind ready to adapt.

 

i'm talking about high level matches with people that have fun with moving limits.

@Manjimaru i noticed you have doubts, if so you can/may/should skip this thread. it lacks value for you. doubts means 0 value.

 

I think its a good idea. Im not sure there is a market for high level. I would set the bar at intermediate.

I have a server,psn and stream where i sometime post rooms, intended for the intermediate audience and up. Just message me if you want to join. Requirment is that you are in EU and on cable.


I would also like that that the VFDC discord have their own channel for beginner and intermediate for eu and usa region.

Reason for this room: To improve the community. There are many solo players who don’t bother with Discord or the VFDC community, but I’ve been pulling them into this sphere—mainly because I’m making the effort, and they recognize my nickname from matches. I also think there’s a real unmet need for an intermediate-and-up group. Sometimes you just want to be able to request a room and know that, at minimum, the players have a certain level of experience. Sure, you can request matches on the main VFDC Discord, but you have to tag roles and go through some extra steps. Some people feel that’s too much of a hassle. Even then, you're exposed to a wider audience, including complete beginners who might jump in. Even if you tag for “experienced,” it doesn’t always have the intended effect. You still get matched with Wi-Fi players or yellow bars from distant regions like the Middle East. A lot of people don’t want to be rude by rejecting matches, so they just avoid requesting games altogether. VF5 is a very skill-based game with a huge gap between new and experienced players. It really needs some kind of bracketed structure—or at least spaces like this, where expectations are clearer

 

My current approach to this will be, whenever i get online i'll ask
1. on Steam
2. VF official Discord with a suitable description

This means, it keeps the same/similar as before, LOL. But sometimes you have to do something, to just make something clear.

Anyway, thank you for your effort and feedback. I think I found something satisfying and i'm going to play with it for some time.
