Now I ask Fighting game fans a question:Have you ever tried to copy someone´s fighting style from Virtua Fighter and tried it in real life?

    No.

I did try to do a dragon punch when I was eleven.

    I broke a light...good times.

I do want to do Akira's standing palm to some one. That would be a nasty move if I could make them flop in real life like that!

Mysterio Rana is one of El Blaze´s back throws, where he jumps to opponent´s shoulders, spins 180 and does Huracanrana.

If it ever gets out that we're getting our real life
    fighting styles from VF.... Well....

Besides the only person I know that did a move from VF (A Vanessa Move) is serving time right now.

So hopefully if you're going to try this at home, stick to the evades and throw escapes.

Well,I still study real Martial Art: Taido ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=aX5gBpg2dho ),but I just wanted to try what Lucha Libre feels like.Of course I´m not fighting with it in really bad situations, but it could be cool to put some El Blaze´s moves in acrobatic Martial Arts like Taido!

Well said masterpo! People, I believe I don't need to remind this to you, but trying to recreate things we see in movies/games can easily lead to a serious injury to yourself or to the other party.

If you are hungry for fighting... Just find yourself a dojo. Train hard, stay safe /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif .

I´m not encouraging peoples to do these things, the point of this thread is to ask fighting game fans that is this thing ever happened to you.

I did study Shaolin for a year or so and practiced all the stances and stuff, like Lei Fei. I certainly never fought anyone with it, kung fu is not really practical. Vanessa and Brad are pretty much the only two VF fighters who have an applicable martial art in a street fight situation.

Akira's style is actually the style that the Chinese Emperors personal body guards used to use (Baji Quan). It must be good if that's what they used to protect the emperor! I've also met and trained with (only a very few times) a real baji master named Yu Kai. This guy could kill some one no problem. He almost went at it with Mike Sigman at my uncles house once. Props if you have heard of Mike Sigman! (you must frequent martial arts boards too!)

I have to disagree with this statement. I'd say there are four fighters who have applicable martial arts for street fights. Vanessa and Brad being two of them like Sik stated, but also Goh and Wolf which I easily rank as having the best styles for street fights over Van and Brad as they are focused on controlling a person and submitting someone. While vale-tudo can also do well for this, Van's representation, which is horrible in my opinion, doesn't do well for the theory of vale-tudo which is not truly a fighting style in a classic sense.

An old lady in the supermarket took this bunch of bananas that I had my eye on so I gave her a Stun Palm of Doom. It was hillarious; she knocked over this whole apple cart and had this look on her face like "Why did you SPoD me you crazy hooligan?"

Cuz I PWN Noobs lady, that's why.

I would agree with you SupaDave, but I figured Vanessa's style (maybe not how she executes it) would include the best parts of Judo and wrestling. We of course could argue over better throws or submissions, that characters implement, to use in a street fight setting, but I was kind of referring to Vanessa (her MMA more than her vale-tudo) in a blanket sense over the other two. Certainly every character has certain moves that could be applicable and devestating in a street fight situation.

Once during savate classes the instructor asked us to cry out loud while attacking to let loose of our emotions /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif

So i threw a big hook and imitated vanessa's boomerang SFX and my sparring partner weirded out - but when i tried to do her heavy impact people around me actually stopped, i bet they went "WTF is wrong with you dude?" /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

To the above poster who says Kung Fu isn't practical--there is plenty of application for Kung Fu in a street fight. On top of striking--which kung fu has plenty of--there are lots of catches, breaks, traps and blocks which can come in handy. There are also Kung Fu schools that teach ground fighting/grappling as well. If you can't apply Kung Fu in a self-defense situation, you are either a bad student, or had a poor teacher.
