heh I wanted to give us a name, but it'd be rude to name virginia without involving everyone who plays, all 3 of 'em =)

I got an email from a student at Virginia Commonwealth University (www.vcu.edu) that said their rec center recently got evo. I'll be trying to arrange a time to visit with him... he doesn't get on VFDC all that often from what I'm reading. Anyway, anyone else who wants to try some evo with me and whoever I can drag along.... try out VCU need weekend.

Went there today with shadowdean... couldn't resist a visit. I didn't get to meet jimmy, but I got to play... the arcade's great.

    ~10-15 pool tables + food court +

Evo (pretty good stick, adequate monitor)
    SC2
    MVC2
    CVS2
    Some DDR game
    Strikers 1945
    Bust-a-Move 3?4?
A "select from a hundred old games" system which had capcom games up to SF2T
and best of all... BATTLE BALLS! A game I love which isn't emulated anywhere.

I shouldn't consider going to grad school at VCU...that is if I want to attend classes /versus/images/icons/smirk.gif

I will definatly have to check this out as soon as I can find the time.

Sup! Driving to me personally would take you 4 and a half hours at least. Driving to richmond though... only 3 /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

So if you're up for it, we'd be glad to hook up.

oh one more thing. i don't want you all to think i'm being an asshole or anything, i just want to be honest in response to gandalf suggesting a big gathering here. i work here, where we have the game room, and unforunately the people who run the place are dicks and always want to make money. one time some people ran an unofficial, non-breakpoint (the name of the gameroom) CvS2 tourney, and they got in trouble.

so, its fine to meet up there and play, but if we want to have a whole lot of folks and a tourney, we will either have to do it thru the silly breakpoint manager, or through the video game club of VCU (which i started as a joke and i'm the president and would make things a lot easier for our purposes).

another cool thing...in one of our ballrooms (in the same building) we have a data projector and a big big screen. i use my dreamcast vga adapter to play on it all the time, and (at least i think) its really awesome. i know ps2 vga boxes are like 40$, and i'm willing to spring for one or if someone has one, and if my bro comes he can bring his ps2 and his arcade stick and we can take a break from wasting our money (if you all are willing to tolerate non-evo gameplay). let me know about that though, cuz making sure the ballroom is free is important.....

ok i've said enough already! i'm just really excited thats all....i've never played with the masters before! /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

sup... I'm down for playing PS2, but if I travel there, I'm gonna be playing more evo than anything else. As long as we don't call it a tournament, the asshole manager won't mind if 4 or 5 guys are hanging around that machine, right?

Hi, I am a friend of Jimmy's who has learned VF alongside him all these years. I would also be honored to play players of a vastly higher skill level.

Most of the people in our local arcades have turned into Tekken players, so we really haven't had anyone to play against besides each other in a long while. So I am looking forward to getting my ass handed to me.

    I am scared...hold me...

Holy cow! Not one, but TWO Richmond VF4 players?

All right, let's set up a gathering.

Well we are originally Hampton players. Jimmy is in Richmond trying to get and education or something like that.
Most of the time when we play it is at Jimmy's brothers house. His room mate has a wide screen TV and surround sound, blah, blah, blah.
If Hampton is closer to anyone, just email me and we can set upa video game night or something.
