Any info on the tournouts for all of the games? I'm interested in how successful the first Evo south was.

This wasn't real a "true" EVO event as it was single elimination and turn outs were capped at 128 entrants per game.

Any idea which characters were used by who in top 5 for VF?

3S results are interesting to me too, thanks for sharing Dan -

^Yah, fubarduck beating Mopreme I guess is an upset.

T5:DR results are shocking too. I've never heard of the top 2. Crow getting 3rd in DR? Is aznhitler Bronson Tran?

    Note:

Gene Flowers is a MvC2 player as well
Buktooth is a SF player (mainly CvS2)
Fubar plays 3S, GGXX, and probably other games.
Tony I have no information on.

Overall, it's good sign to see players from other communities trying the game out. Sad to see that nobody we know here on VFDC made it in the end.

w1r3d is my friend Pedro and he's from Puerto Rico. He's one of the forum moderators at Tekken Zaibatsu. Aznhitler is not Bronson Tran. Insanelee is Bronson Tran and he's in California. He'll probably be entering EVO West.

Wow all of them are middle to low-tier characters. This truly shows that tier-lists don't matter! Still it sucks that they weren't dedicated VF players (unless they converted). I was actually trying to get a 2-man team with me and my friend to play GGXX (he wanted to play GGXX and I wanted to do VF so I have to do both) in Evo North.

Aznhitler is Houston's David Hem, plays everything. Tony Huynh is ddr gakusei, a Dallas player, plays everything (Capcom, SNK, 3d). Buktooth is indeed the CvS2 player. Mopreme didn't lose to Fubar, he lost to Hsien. Hsien/Fubar 3S finals are here, great match.

Nobody has the other matches from Evo 2k7 South on Youtube? I would like to see the intensity of the VF tournament!

I dunno, I skipped Sat's tourneys then was dumb and too hungover to make registration for the tourneys I cared about Sunday (VF, ST, Marvel). Go me~ I'll post up if more footage surfaces.

I didn't see anyone videotaping, or saving matches to the ps3s, but I also didn't stick around for the finals.

Well Pai is top tier but you should take into consideration that the game is still very young in the states.

I'll go out and say it -- the level of U.S. players is low enough that there is no such thing as tiers here. I'm pretty confident that my El Blaze can take down any Shun, Pai, or other top-tier characters here (here as defined by U.S. born players living in the U.S.) at least a few games out of ten. OK I said it, I guess I'll have to live with the target now on my back. Bring it on!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
