Evo speed difference?

Does anyone else feel like Evo is perhaps a tiny bit slower than VF4? I don't know what it is, it just seems like it 'flows' kind of differently. That's a really lame description I know, but I can't think how else to describe it.

Nope. if anything, it feels like the pace of matches is a bit faster.

    it's the same guys /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Remember the attacks are pretty carefully based on 1/60th of a second frames. Sega's not gonna fuck with the speed slightly for any reason because that might ruin the attack speed balance.

I think the reason it seems slower/faster is because of the overall animation improvements. The actual speed, however, is just the same like Creed said. It's only a cosmetic/psychological difference. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yeah, I can't put my finger on it. I just was playing through training mode with Pai and it felt 'different' somehow. I'm getting used to it now. Evo is great (mem card issues aside).

You guys are right... when i said "pace" this is what i meant. For example, Wolf's new d/f, d/f+P+G animations seem to complete more quickly than his differing animation in VF4. Same goes for Jeff's XPD.

BTW, i just wanted to point out how much of a monster Jeff is in Evo. His moves seem more... efficient. I don't know how else to describe it, but he seems like a much better striker now, with some damaging throws mixed in for good measure.

He's seems like a better all rounder now. I really miss the range on his [4_][P] though, I didn't realise how much I abused that move until now.

Also, is it me or is the hit detection improved somehow (and not just on OTB combos)?

yeah, others have noticed combos work in evo better than in C... floats that used to barely miss, flop/slam combos that can't be done in C, little things like lau getting a PPPK where normally he'd have to settle for PPPd+K.

Brad seems to have a particular talent for scraping people off the ground for an extra couple of hits. I hate him already
