I listen to a wide variety of music, here are a few of my favorite bands -

Fear Factory - Some love, some don't really care for them, an aquired taste I guess, but one of my top favorites.

Aphex Twin - Everybody likes these dudes.

The Strokes - No I'm not joking, they're probably the best popular new band right now.

In Flames - Just recently starting looking into this band, an awesome blend of newer, cold/hard metal sound and old stuff like Maiden.

Meshuggah - Similar to Fear Factory in style, with jazz-inspired tangents and cwazy time sigs like 13/9 lol.

Radiohead - Everybody likes these guys.

Transplants - I'm really liking this band a lot the more I listen to them.

Filter - I like this band.

Soulfly - Most perfer Sepultura ("oh man this band sux spultura was better"), but they grew on me and now I like them even more than Sepultura.

The Pillows - J-Rock dudes that did most of the FLCL OST. I don't usually listen to J-whatever, but this band is an exception. Awesome band.

Orbital - Nice techno or whatever the kids call it nowadays.

I can't really think of much right now, but I guess about all thats worth mentioning for now since I just woke up, everything else I like is pretty much the same rock/metal/classical/techno shit that everyone else is gonna say lol.

    Well if its just bands heres only I few I like ( there are many more );

Queen, The Seahorses, The stone roses, REM, Staind, Limp bizkit, Korn, Metallica, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Led Zep, The Verve, OCS, The Beatles, Aerosmith, Nirvana, GnR, Thin Lizzy, Radiohead, AC/DC, Jefferson Airplane, Muse, Puddle of mud, Soundgarden, Primus, Sepultura man I could go on forever.

If its guitarists I admire then it'd be Hendrix, Van Halen, Slash, Brian may, John Squire, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani etc... and if its singers its Dido, Beyonce, Freddie Mercury, Richard Ashcroft, John Lee Hooker, could go on and on about this topic like I say.

I'm hoping Dido can top her No Angel album this month with White Flag but it'll be hard work I reckon. Still love Nirvanas Nevermind as well as Metallicas Black Album ( Enter Sandman oh yeah /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif ), Primus' Brown album and The Verves Urban Hymns. Far too many more to mention.

Actually one really sad thing I love is John Harrisons score to Day of the Dead and also the score to The Thing and Luc bessons The Fifth Element but thats slightly off topic.

Jeez, I feel musically shallow now, but my smiths collection has set me back £500 plus. But I also like the Fall, Joy Divison, Stone Roses, Radiohead, Strokes (gotta love 'em), Rokysopp, Lemon Jelly, Massive Attack, UNKLE etc.

I'd have to say my favourite Album (rather predictably) would either be The Smith's Queen is Dead or Meat is Murder or Radiohead's The Bends or OK Computer. Those albums remind me of being unemployed and/or being completery smashed at college! (No change there then!).

Probably my all time favourite album would be Didos No Angel as I've listened to it for the past 2 years pretty much solidly. For singles I'd say OCS's Hundred Mile High City but there really are sooo many more I could name. Favourite album track would be The Seahorses's Love is the Law ( 7 min version ). One band I did forget on my list was VAT. Yep my band with me on lead guitar, John Glasby on backing guitar and vocals, Stephen Quinn on drums and Nick Bunstone on bass. Yes you won't have heard of us before and may think I'm an idiot for adding my own band to the list but with any luck we'll be going places soon.

I never post but once I saw Samael mentioned above I decided that I had to. Good show Katana! Early Samael rocks. I could do without alot of the stuff off of Passage and everything that followed it. Ceremony of Opposites and Blood Ritual are great. So is Worship Him to a lesser degree.

The bands I like are varied: early Samael, early Amorphis, early Unleashed, Clutch, Oasis (so shoot me, Im a huge fan), TMBG, Eat Static, Anubian Lights...

Yep, old Samael rocks alright. Passage started to get a little electronic for me, and other stuff after that got even worse.
"Ceremony"... is easily my favourite of the older stuff.
Speaking of Amorphis, it's one band I forgot to mention, but really should have.
"Tales from the thousand lakes" and "Elegy" were both pretty risky albums, but they're both incredible. "Tales" ...is a bit more heavy on the atmosphere, more of a brooding, moody kind of menace to it, but "Elegy" certainly has it's moments too.
"The karelian isthmus" is also excellent, although more a straightforward assault than the other two albums.
I lost track of the band after that "Elegy" though.
Two other bands I forgot were Emperor and Enslaved.
    Both killer.

    Hrmmm...I like few things...

    Sevendust
    Lacuna Coil
    Lullacry
    Powerman 5000
    16Volt
    Q-Tip
    Neptunes
    B.I.G
    Gangstarr
    Joe Budden
    DMX
    Wu-Tang (36 Chamber days)

Neptunes stuff is great as they always come up with something new...so chances are i'll like their mixes.
